Not really a tinkering by choice...HELP!
So my sister lives down in Texas and is moving back home next week and I'm flying down so she has someone with her for the drive up and her 2004 Chevy classic has stopped running. From what she said I could tell it was the fuel lump but she took it to the dealer**** anyway and they confirmed my belief and told her it would be 900 dollars to repair. I know I can do it for half that if not less so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these cars or tips on replacing the fuel pump and filter on them!? I'm gunna wish I was working on my wide open, easy to access truck the whole damn time!

If it is the same as similar year Monte Carlo's, and Impala's it is easy to change the fuel pump. There is a trap door in the floor of the car that makes it a piece of cake.

Take me 30 mins with a rack. The tank is held up with two straps (15 mm bolt head) and there are 3 or fuel and emission lines and one or two electrical connectors. The pump isn't cheap especially a good one stick with a Carter Delphi or delco brand.
