Wiring advice - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Howdy. I'm at the wiring stage of my build. Got a Ron Francis kit and was looking for a little advice on where to run the wires. Such as, running them across the firewall vs inside the dash, low on the inner fenders or up high, or just copy where the factory wires ran. Figured I'd seek out the suggestions of folks who've already been down that road. Pictures always helpful.

I also used a Ron Francis kit. I pretty much followed the paths of the factory wiring with the main engine and front light harness passing through the upper driver side firewall down the driver side inner fender. Under the dash, I bundled almost everything along the firewall above the wiper motor.

Since you are using an updated harness it sounds like you might be designing a system that has a few more circuits than the factory had. I ran into this problem with AAW's Classic Update Kit. I wound up having to use a Delphi 22-pin firewall connector for the extra circuits. I later thought about if it would have been better to use a later model harness that has the fuse box/junction block assembly. There are more than twice the number of terminals available to wire in more circuits.

A bit more of a PITA to do that but I think the end result would have been a cleaner look.
