Re: New shoes

Tires are 225/60/18, not too low profile, I didn't want too much of a rough ride, these have enough rubber and ride nice.

The wheels are Mobsteel. 18x8 with a 4.5 backspace. I almost went with the 20", but I was concerned with clearance but I think they would have fit well. Ill run these for now, I like how it handles and drives and the stance isn't too crazy either way.

Re: New shoes

I'd say you nailed it with the complete package, paint scheme, stance and wheel tire setup, your panel really stands out - great job!

Re: New shoes

Looks Great! I'm getting ready to make a order from Mob Steel for my 66 GMC Panel. I'm wanting to go with the 20's. Question: Have you lowered your Panel, if so how many inches in the front and back?

I'm dropping my 4 inches all the way around and want to make sure I will have enough clearance with those rims with a tire package of 255/45/R20.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: New shoes

Leon I dropped it 5 in the rear and 3 up front. I was considering 20's but thought I might rub, but I think they will fit just fine. Your going with a pretty low profile tire so that will help too. I didn't want too rough of a ride and it doesn't, drives better than some newer vehicles I have and handles great. I did the drop spindle and shorter spring route by the way, not just cut or shorter springs

Re: New shoes

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I am also going the drop Spring and Spindle route from CPP. The drop spindle they offer is supposed to pull the front wheels in on both sides 3/4 for a inch to help ensure no rubbing when running larger wheels and or tires. Just curious, what is the measurement (Clearance) from the ground to the front lip of wheel well? 29 inches?

Re: New shoes

With my wheel tire setup the front is sitting at just a shy over 28" and the rear at 24. Springs are fairly new, so I'm guess over time they might sag a little bit?

Re: New shoes

Quick question, you used CPP parts right? I used their 2 inch drop Spindle and 2 inch drop springs and barely got a 1 1/2 total drop. Trying to figure out if there was some sort of problem with the parts they sent me.

Re: New shoes

Yes Leon I used CPP parts, you changed out your shocks too? Not sure what the problem may be, you may have gotten the wrong parts, I did get a wrong bearing and two different size brake lines when I ordered.
