Hello Woody. Nice to see another "Dark Yellow" truck on the forum. Looks good! I've got a 72 C20 same color.

Thanks Leon...That's the plan, load up the family and drive! At Christmas, I popped the rear seat out and drove 10 of us through our local "Christmas Light Area" (big thing around here). The grandkids piled in the back on quilts for the slow drive of our residential streets the way were did as kids...moving from side to side looking out those huge windows. Due to the 4 mph speed, our local law enforcement embrace the "spirt of the law" rather than the "letter of the law", so all was well...and safe!

1972 C20. 6.0L LS, 4L65E, 4 wheels disc brakes, and a few other things. Work in progress!

Wow!!! That"s a mighty nice "work in progress"...it makes mine look like I'm starting from scratch! What's your interior like?

Thanks....after 6 years of ownership, it's getting there. Interior is 100% original. Headliner needs to be redone and the two seats need to be reupholstered. Outside of that, I'm not going to touch the inside....I like the "worn in" look, its just that the headliner is falling down, and both seats have significant tears in them.

My interior is pretty shredded due to the heat of the desert where I found it...but it keep all the metal dry and rot free! The headliner is original and in great shape but causes a dilemma as I'd like to add insulation!?! The Beach-Burban's paint looks good in photos, but closer inspection shows how all the heat killed the clear coat and rubber seals. Please add photos as you progress (or even your "before" shots)!

A host is not necessary. You can post directly to the site. If you get an error it may be that the photo is too large, so a reduction in size will allow you to post it. Plus using a host means if your host goes sideways your thread likely would lose it's photos. All the photos in my WMB thread are posted directly. There are a couple of limitations, like you can't add captions to each individual photo. Do a quick search for detailed instructions.
Looking forward to seeing your Burban.

Actually you can, it just takes a little longer.

Up load your pics like normal

Name: Capture.jpg
Views: 312
Size: 41.4 KB

After you do that, open the paper clip icon again and click on insert all attachments

Name: insert all.jpg
Views: 264
Size: 37.1 KB

That will load your attached pics in to the text area

Name: shows like this.jpg
Views: 310
Size: 38.4 KB

Type your text in between each attachment and put a couple spaces above and below your text so it does not get lost

Name: insert text.jpg
Views: 312
Size: 31.5 KB

If you want to check to make sure you are captioning the correct picture just hit preview post and move things around as needed until you are satisfied. Once you are happy with it then click submit reply and done.

It should turn out like post 95 I just posted in my thread here

Cool...I'll follow your build with great interest! I'm a newly registered user but I've been lurking in the shadows for about 5 years reading and learning from everyone's post. It's a great forum!

Re: 67-72 Burbs and Panels 2wheel drive only

As teenagers, my future wife and I borrowed her parents '71 Suburban to take on camping trips. This photo taken at Lake Elsinore in 1975 shows her Burb loaded to the gills with dirt-bikes and gear...and yes...that is a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang with a motorcycle trailer attached to it! My best friend got that as a high school graduation gift...and he used it to tow his toys!!! If only we knew then what we know now! It might have taken over four decades...but at least I've got my Suburban. Getting the Boss 302 will be a little harder to pull-off, though!

Can someone share the trick on rotating photos? I've tried everything...except the right thing!
Thanks,

Woody
What are you posting pictures from, phone or computer? If on computer you can open them up in windows photo editor or MS paint and rotate them correctly there before posting. If by phone it depends on what phone you are using

Richard...I'm posting from my computer (MAC). I am able to rotate the crap out of them there, but even when the photo is rotated to the correct position, it doesn't correct itself when posted? Most of my photos post correctly, but I have one that only wants to post upside down...so I rotate it upside down on my computer and then upload it to the site. I can't fool the site as it still posts upside down!?! How did you rotate my photo?
Thanks,
Woody

If they originally came from an Iphone I think there was an issue with them still going back to a default setting. I will see if I can find the tread with that discussion in a little bit. Since I am using windows and no nothing about Mac I cant be sure what your fix will be but if I don't find the thread maybe someone will chime in that uses the mac platform

You might even try saving the photo as something different once you rotate it on your computer.

You were right on all accounts, Richard. The problem photos were taken with an IPhone...and moving the corrected photo to a different location/album allowed it to transfer to the post correctly! Attached is the photo that always transferred upside down! Thank you very much

Thanks Beach-Burban. It’s only had a couple holes in the roof filled where antennas were and been repainted after it was sold by a fire department. Other than that, it’s a 34,000 mile original. People always ask about the spot, lol.

Same here regarding the spotlights...I've got two! The history of yours is very cool...and only 34,000 miles...that's unreal! Mine has 165,000, which isn't too bad considering age, but no "service history" like yours. Original owner was a Service Manager at a GMC dealership and an avid camper, so that's the story for my spots! A lot of replacement parts came from GMC vehicles that were "available" to him at the dealership, which is why there are no cutouts in the front bumper for turn signals (they're hidden behind the grill) but at least he used "genuine" parts from the day!

Great looking Burb! Love the color combo. The spots just fit perfect on these vehicles.
