Blue LED under dash and behind seats accent lighting

I've always been fascinated with interior accent lighting, heck I'm also into exterior accent lighting but this post is just the beginning of the lighting.

Fairly simple install, parts were cheap and time was a few hours.

I added a total of 4 blue LED lights, two under the dash and two behind the seat.

LED's were from Super Bright LEDs

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...les/miniature-
rectangle-led-accent-light-black/25/

Add-A-Fuse from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Radar-Mount-D...rds=add+a+fuse

The rest was just simple wiring connectors and 18 gauge wire for power and ground.

I added the Add-A-Fuse to the fuse panel and jumped the Dashlights circuit so it comes on with my headlight. I soldered the wiring to make clean connections. The ground in the dash was just added to a screw as the body is the ground. And in the rear, I just drilled a hole in the top crease to make a ground.

The pics aren't the best but you can tell how it will look. As you might know, photographing lighting never comes out clearly but you can see how they look.

I've included 3 pics.

First - From inside the cab looking under the dash.
Second - From inside the bed looking inside the truck.
Third -Form the front of the truck looking inside.

For about $32 and a few hours of time, I think it's pretty bad ass!

I like it!!!

I added LED lighting in my truck, just under the dash and then my door plates. I used white under the dash. I guess I never thought about using a color. I got a under the dash kit from LMC and added those 2 to the 2 that were already there, so 4 all together. And then I also upgraded the dome light and put a LED bulb in it too.

This is a great idea. Thinking I'm going to do it in mine and wire it to the door switches since my dome light doesn't work. I think this would be better than fixing the dome light.

Those sill plates are awesome too! I might tie a pair into my dome light. I can't get my under dash stock courtesy lights to come on and it's not the bulb.

Re: Blue LED under dash and behind seats accent lighting

Most issues with the dome light and/or courtesy lights are the door switches. The terminals usually rust and fall off the back of the door switches. I had this on my truck, my dome light & courtesy lights did not work. After doing some tracing, I found my wires were no longer attached to the back of the switches. They were laying in in the bottom, between the panels. So I got some new ones and reattached the terminals and "Then There Was Light"!!!

Thanks! I've already changed both door switches, the dome light comes with the doors opening but nothing under the dash. Thanks for the help!

Were there 2 wires on the left side/drivers side? Should be 2 wires on the left and 1 on the right side.

Yes those wires were solid, both sides replaced. I checked under the dash and found the one bulb in the middle and checked those wires and connections and all were good, I did not find another light anywhere else. Thanks for your help!

What I meant was, there should be 2 wires that go to the back of the left side door switch and 1 wire that goes to the back of the right side door switch.

Sorry, yes that is correct, I replied vaguely.

There was indeed two wires on the drivers side door switch and one wire on the passenger side door switch.
