Question VIN location

Can someone tell me where the VIN is located on a '68 model. I'm trying to purchase a 68 from the owner who has lost the title. Where do I look for it on the cab and also is there one on the chassis or other location?

Thanks in advance,.....

Should be just below the striker plate on the left hand door pillar.

I've looked all over the door jamb area on the drivers side. Nothing there. It may have been removed for some reason and it doesn't appear to have been in body damage repair in this area.

the vin is also stamped into the top of the frame on the passenger side in the area of the steering box. might have to do some scraping of whatever to find it.

Options list on the inside of the glove box door should have a VIN on it. If the list is there...

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.

If it isnt on the cab on the driver side area it should have holes for the rivets,id stay away from a truck that doesnt have on cab,but it is on driver side frame rail and uner driver sid frame under cab.I know its illegal but could always resort to buying a vin and title and buy rivets from www.trimtags.com but id make sure it was legit,be a bummer to buy someguys stolen truck.also option sheet in glove box,if its scratched off id be more leary, but you will fing on frame.i use 67 gmc frames on keepers no vins on frame.good luck!!
