I want to replace the gauges in my 1971 GMC with performance Autometer gauges. Looking for tech articles with measurments and guidlines. Please help.

I've got an article on how to make a panel like the one below. It's from a Classic Trucks magazine. Has Autometer guages and a dakota digital shift indicator in the middle. Autometer makes a guage that fits in the middle if you don't wan't the shift indicator. I can send you a copy of it if you want it. Andrew

Thanks for your reply Andrew,
I used to have a Truckin' magazine with that exact picture of dash and gauges. I believe the article was called "dashboard lights". It was really informational, I've looked everywhere for it and can't find it. I want to do the dash makeover just like they did. Maybe Classic Trucks Magazine has the same how to article. In Truckin' Magazine I think the issue was June 99' does anyone have this issue to verify? How can I find it.

YEP --- I PUT AUTO METER GAGES IN MINE. 5" & 2 1/16" FIT RIGHT IN A STOCK BEZEL, WITH NO CUTTING.

BADASS2001CHEVY, thats a stock panel. I replied to your post with some web address for aftermarket panels. SteveQ71, the article is form Feb 2000 issue of Classic Trucks. It's called Phantom Dash. The last time I tried to email the article I couldn't size it right so that it would be samll enough th email but still be readable. So I ended up copying it and mailing it. I going to try to put it on my website so who ever wants it can copy it and print it out. The pics may take a while to load though. If that works out I'll post the web address here. If it doesn't work I make copies and mail them out.

The pages take a little bit to download. Pages 2-4 will act like thay are not opening. They will completely download then the picture will show up. Page 1 will show up as it downlaods.
