Re: pics from my trip

TJ.... did it look like this?

The top has two stickers that actually mean something to me... the 67-72chevytrucks.com norwood meet (upper left) and the blue Classic GM trucks of Washington sticker (lower left)... which was given to me on this trip.

It wasn't your cooler man... I got it at a thrift store for 5 bucks.

Re: pics from my trip

Very cool story. I wish I was young and crazy and able to do that. In '81 I did that in Gringo, my '71 Blazer, but gas was 90 cents then. Drove from California to Iowa, stayed there all summer, then back to California, stopping at some friends in Colorado. Ah, to be young again. I'm happy with a half an hour in my truck anymore.

Great adventure and an even better documentary. I think it should be made into a screen play or better yet a mini-series...LOL! "Burbin' With the Stars...TONIGHT, the most shocking gas leak ever!"

And the timing is perfect so we have something to watch instead of reruns with the writers on strike!

But that leaves you to write it

Re: pics from my trip

Andy,

I just want to say thanks for sharing your experience of drivin' da Burb cross country. It was a real treat reading each new post ( along with accompanying pictures, even!). What a great time you had getting to meet all the board members you spent time with. You certainly have a gift for storytelling.

What I want to know is, how did you ever manage to make it back to Ohio with all the Dew and Red Bull you drank. I would've had to stop for a "pee" break every other rest area.

BTW: Brad, if you can read this, that is, if you have access to a computer....
I must say, Frankentruck is lookin' as cool as ever!

Well, I normally made a stop every 100 to 200 miles. Which, is about as often as I stopped for fuel.

A man, a mission, a long stretch of road, and a "cruisemobile"......sounds like heaven to me!

Buck a gallon fuel would've made it orgasmic!

I second the hottie pics!!!

Thanks for sharing your trip....too cool.

These 2 pics are definatly Wyoming. I drive that road every day to my job site. In the first pic, you can just make out the wind turbines that are being installed along the horizon. These hills are the legendary 'sisters'. When I-80 closes due to snow, this is where it closes first. I am not looking forward to driving this road this winter.

I wish I had been paying attention to your road trip sooner, about an hour before you took these pics, you were about 5 miles from my well-equiped shop. 15 minutes later, you were passing the town I'm working in.

Awesome... now I know where I was! Thanks.
Yeah, I put out a few threads on my trip plans before I went.. but didn't get many numbers on this revised route. The original route I had gotten a butt load of contacts, but only a few on this more southern route.

Hey now, that Ford has drug home many a Chevy truck for me. Unfortunately its time has passed and it awaits a trip to the scrap yard. He gave his last breath for one of our trucks

Hey Brad! As I write this you're probably still in an airplane! Have fun, be safe and come back to us soon!

Re: pics from my trip

Awesome recount of the trip. LH if you think CO is pretty you'd have been in heaven on the original route. Spokane WA to Missoula MT is one of the most scenic stretches of Freeway I've ever driven. The veterans memorial bridge in C'dA is a nice one to see. It was a bummer when plans changed to the southerly route but all in all it looks like great trip. Enjoy the burb.

Andy, You and the Burb made it. That was a great story. It's great how these trucks bring us together. Oh, I had to put Brad's truck on my desktop too, because that's a good looking truck. Nice truck Brad. I will use the photo shopped one for a bit... if you don't mind. Oh, Be safe Brad.

Great story Andy!!

This stuff is awsome!
