What Front End do I have.

Need some assistance. In the process of purchasing a 68 and I’m trying to figure out what front end it has. Previous owner is stating it’s a mustang ll. Is that accurate? Any idea what brand based in the control arms?

Re: What Front End do I have.

"Mustang II" has been bandied about since the '80s when chassis builders and others started robbing the front suspension from Ford products, namely the Mustang II, and putting them on other vehicles.. As produced, these suspensions were far too weak to support full size cars and trucks.. The builders started modifying and building stronger front suspensions that were much stronger yet retained the semblance to the original Ford suspensions.. The name "Mustang II" was retained.. This is what you have under your truck now.. Manufacturer unknown..

.

The Ridetech link pics differ from the OP pics in at least two ways:

o lower bag mount (OP=below swing arm, RT=above swing arm)
o sway bar mount/location (OP=in front of the spindle, RT=behind spindle)

The actual bag/shock/spring assembly does appear similar to RT however.

Re: What Front End do I have.

Not sure who the manufacturer of the mustang II front end is but judging by the under side of the truck someone has put a lot of work into that c10. 😎👍

Re: What Front End do I have.

Here's another contender:
https://fuelcurve.com/fatman-fabrications-c10-ifs/
https://www.fatmanfab.com/bolt-in-kits

They really don't have great pics for the Fatman anywhere....

If OP could take some more pics with closeups using a flash, it would help too....

I'm surprised there is no logo on it anywhere. Seems all the rage today to have your logo or name cut out of a piece welded on to everything. I did ask one of the chassis manufacturers at a show if they would make me one without their name/logo all over it and they said they would.
