WTB: Blue 71' Seat Belt Thingy

I'm looking for the plastic cover that holds the passenger side male seat belt up. My cover is all broken up and allows the seat belt to get caught in the door when you close it. I'm seeking blue, and would take a pair of them if available.

Re: WTB: Blue 71' Seat Belt Thingy

billsbowtie offered me a complete set of belts, at a great price. That got me thinking I might not be able to just replace the blue plastic thingy without breaking it. So I am prepared to buy a complete set of belts, or perhaps just the passenger side set. Anybody got nice blue belts for sale-with thingy(s)? As it turned out, bills thingy was cracked.

Just to clarify, the "thingy" is what I'm calling the blue plastic sleeve that holds the belt up from falling in the door opening. I don't know what else to call it.

Re: WTB: Blue 71' Seat Belt Thingy

Hey Guradrail, I just did this to my black ones. You probably already know, but I didnt so here goes. Be VERY carefull when you take the old belt out and go to replace this unit. In order to get the belt threaded you have to take it clear off of the spring loaded piece at the base of the plastic. To rethread was a pain and even when I thought I had it right and in place, it wasnt. It has not retracted correctly since and doesnt at all now. I re-did it so many times the plastic housing cracked and now I just flip my fully extended male belt into the seat behind me when I get out.

IMO, buy one that comes with the belt threaded and working, thats what I am going to have to do now...

I don't have much to go on since I'm just beginning my search. How about some photos?

Hey phlegm, I'll take that advice. I don't want to take the retractor apart, I'll just replace the whole thing.

Re: WTB: Blue 71' Seat Belt Thingy

I bought mine off a board member, got both driver and passenger side and paid $25 plus the shipping. Keep asking around, I am sure someone has a set pretty reasonable.
