Here's one. I'm excited about it as i've been wanting to go efi for a while now. Yet i do have my work cut out for me. First off, out comes the engine (again) to smooth all the casting and get coated in Chrevrolet Orange POR 15. Camshaft will be replaced with a much tamer hydraulic roller, replumb fuel system, redo a bunch of electrical and install S&P's harness. Gear drive has to go so that the knock sensor doesnt have fits. I was getting tired of it already.

Looks great, what kit did you use for the windows. Sorry if you mentioned it previously in your thread and I missed it. How was the install and are you happy with the quality?

Keith, i used the One Piece Products kit. Overall im pleased with it. Ben Tapia did a nice job on these kits but they are definately not a " bolt in and go" ! You've got to make it work. I give 2 thumbs up on the revised check link for the hinges.

Is it too early for an overall shot??? Would be great to see it since you've added so much.

Thanks, they are 67-69 Firebird mirrors from Dynacorn . Great quality. Nice and tight . The arms are a little shorter but it keeps them tucked in while still being completely functional . Without the vent windows , I moved them forward a good bit .

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

Well, since i cant seem to leave anything as is, i decided to gasket match the tpi plenum to the intake. While the runners are really nice as cast, this transition area on the plenum was a little rough for my likeing. I also removed the 3" tall spacers and the unit looks much nicer without them. Plus i surely wasnt cutting my hood.
No pics yet without the spacers as i still have the unit blown apart.

Still working on it . The whole bed is now ready for paint , minus the tailgate . The two that I had just didn't measure up . I would up springing for a really sweet OEM gate . ( Thanks Daniel ! [ dirish ] )

Still have a few more changes to make for the efi . I did get the tank pulled and installed the new in-tank pump .

As for the motor , well I wound up taking a few steps backwards on that. I was just planning to pull the motor and repaint and install new cam . Well , I pulled the heads off and disassembled for paint . Wound up installing new springs and valve job . Then , when i came to the block , I figured that too would be much easier if it was bare . So once tore down , proceeded to smooth all the casting . The POR 15 paint looks much better with it slicked out . While its apart , if course it's getting new bearings , rings .

So in a nutshell , an engine repaint turned into a total engine build ! And I wonder why this truck is not finished yet. . Lol !

Sounds like me, I'm pulling my complete rolling chassis apart to install Porterbuilt Front/Rear Dropmembers and re-paint the frame, so I'm taking two steps back to take a step forward as well. You will be happier in the end that you did exactly what you wanted atleast thats how I feel about mine Can't wait to see some updated pics.
