Angry Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

I would steer clear of these seller names. He is on ebay under a few names, rodpartsdealer and fatrodder being another alias. They have the worst customer service EVER!! If you have a problem YOU have to call them Long distance(too cheap for an 800 #) Funny they sell products via the internet, but REFUSE to communicate via the internet if you have a problem.I have a paypal clain against them as we speak. I emailed them over 10 times, NO responce, filed paypal claim, responded in less the 24 hours, all they kept saying is we are busy, and get alot of emails, SO WHAT HIRE SOMEBODY TO ANSWER THEM, it is that easy. IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!

The deal was I ordered everything with the Flamed design, like valve covers, pvc and crank case breathers, rear view mirror, peep mirrors, but yet they sent me a ball milled air cleaner and a part was omitted from my order. Really how hard is it to pack the correct parts in the box??

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

Sorry to hear that you're having problems, I bought some parts from rodparts and got everything I ordered (some chrome overflow tanks, among other things), I actually got an extra tank and offered to pay for it but they were'nt worried about it.

They were slow in responding to emails though, seems to be a common complaint for them.

Randy, sorry to hear about your deal. I have bought several sets of seat belts from them and agree with others that they are slow with shipping even though they have great prices. I've noticed when I buy from sellers with like 10,000 transactions it tends to be real slow shipping.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

Anyone running a business should make an effort to communicate imo.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

I've bought several things from rodparts and fatrodder with no real issues. They are probably WAY over their heads with volume of sales.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

Yup - had my BAD experience with them. They're great until there's a problem with what you ordered from them. Then you'll realize that they left out customer satification when they established their company bylaws. I heard many say that they've got good deals on certain items, however I've yet (hope someone can prove me wrong) to run across anyone that's encountered an issue and state that they made right on their wrong. I defintely don't recommend buying anything that you're not planning to use right away. If you look them up on the Better Business Burea their real business name is Gearhead or something simuliar.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

I bought from them and thought they were great. They had fast email responses, and they got my address wrong or had some confusion so they sent me a card telling me to call, and I did. They answered fast, didn't wait on hold, got it straightened out and I had the part in less then a week from CA to WV.

That was a year ago though however. They may have changed by now.

That seems to be the way it goes with them. Either you have no problems at all or all you have is problems. The later also seems to be the general consenses from what I read about them. But of course you seldom hear about smooth sales.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

UPDATE, After 15 emails and 11 tries at getting them on the phone, and almost two months(They won't tell you their business hours in an email) They finally made it right with me. Now why should one have to hunt them down like a bounty hunter just to get what you PAID for? Eventhough they have rectified my issue I still will not be back. I expect better service than that, and if I have to pay a little more for it, then so be it. I have found a couple other sellers that have the same products and are close in price, so you know where my money will be spent. When I get theirs names right I wil pass them on to the rest of you. Randy

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

The 3 companies owned or websites owned by the same company is not unusual in autoparts retailing. You do a search on google for a rack and pinnion and the top 4 are the same company.

I don't think they will get any better at it. they had about 24000 sales in the past 12 months and 233 complaints, less than 1%, most companies would live with that.

Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

I Bought A Dual Diaphram, Corvette Style Master Cylinder Booster, & All The Brackets & Hardware From Them Earlier This Summer. It Was Shipped From Another Company Altogether, & Several Pieces Were Missing. I Emailed & Called Them Several Times, & Each Time They Promised To Send Them Out The Next Day. After Waiting 3 Weeks.... Nothing. I Went To Napa & Bought What I Needed. (those Guys Are Great) I Had To Manufacture A Adjustment Piece That Goes From The Booster To The Master. It Was Just A Matter Of Making A New (longer) Rod & Threading It. I Would Have Much Preferred Them Being Honest With Me From The Get Go Instead Of Jerking Me Around & Lying To Me Causing Me To Waste A Month. I Don't Think I'll Be Doing Bussiness With Them Again. Re: Fat rodder/rodparts dealer Ebay

I had a similar experience, they took ages to ship a wiring harness, I had paid w/ paypal and paid for something like 10 day shipping to the Netherlands. They never answered my emails, then I filed a paypal dispute and got a message I should call them. I called them numerous times (international!! $$$$) and got a run around story, every time I got a girl on the hpone and it sounded like the same one every time, yet the name changed. I think they could see it was an international call so "if it's that whining idiot from the netherlands feed him some more BS" ... I exploded on the phone and called my CC company, sure enough when the reversal procedure was started the part was promptly shipped. I'm never buying from them again either.
