Re: Rust on ring and pinion

This came available down the road from me. Wrong gear ratio (3.83) but I can change that. Only thing it's out of a 95..c3500
Short of changing spring and shock mounts would it fit ?

Re: Rust on ring and pinion

Measure the backing plate to backing plate dimension and the outside rim to outside rim dimension. If the wheel offset is the same or close to yours, it looks like it would work for width.

Compare the rear end yokes where the U-joint bolts on. Make sure the overall width is close, some one tons use a larger diameter driveshaft and larger U-joints which would make bolting your stock driveshaft and U-joint to that rear end yoke more challenging. They do make conversion parts and custom driveshaft modifications. I was able to use my stock Dana 60 yoke installed onto my Dana 70U to match up to my stock driveshaft and u-joint size.

In your case if your driveshaft won't bolt on to that rear end, you might be able to make a custom driveshaft using the stock front part of driveshaft grafted on to the rear driveshaft end of the donor vehicle.

I do have another axle, but it will be a while before I take it out from the motorhome if you are not in a hurry.

If you want anything from it let me know.
