Holley Gas tank install questions

Has anyone installed the Holley Gas tank part #19-185

https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...s/parts/19-185

I have it ready to install but was hoping to hear from someone that installed it before

I believe I can cut off the two rear frame cross members and bolt it to the upper part of the frame. Anyone done this before?

Also, how does the gas fill line up in relation to the wood floor? Hoping it's not below a metal strip

Thanks in advance

Also, Didn't see anyone posts about this tank so I'll post an install thread as I go along

Re: Holley Gas tank install questions

I only cut out the spare tire mount. No crossmembers. Looks up Boyd tank installs. It’s the same thing

I can only advise to a Boyd's install. Easy as pie. I was concerned about where the filler would fall as well but Boyd's obviously has this all figured out.

Thanks for replying everyone, it helped me realize I was sent the wrong tank

MBeef is right, very similar. I'd say Boyds looks better though

67C10step, where did you get that fuel door? I like the set up and thanks for sharing

I guess there are several different ways to do certain things including mounting not only the tank, but the filler also. He is how I did mine, just another way.

Re: Holley Gas tank install questions

I got my cap from Boyd’s as well. I like the one old51 showed as well but don’t know if I have the skills for that level.

My tank is set up for carburetor now but I went ahead and ran a supply and return line just in case while I was running a new hard line from the rear to the front.
