Re: Project Patina Burb

I'm using the early 90's truck ones. The mount sits higher on the inside. I've got some tubing that I'm using to flatten them out and reinforcing them also. I'll take a pic this weekend and show you.

Got my Lokar Transmission linkage adapter in today. It'll be nice to put it in gear correctly.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I was trying to get my mud work done this weekend since I was off, but all of my local buddies were out of town for Labor Day. Spent a few hours on the burb anyway yesterday. Got the Lokar shift linkage adapter installed and measured and drilled for the 67 mirror and round mirror heads. Also, I bought a ceiling console from pullapart out of a late model S10 Blazer. I got it mounted, but not sure how to get it wired yet.

Sorry for the crappy pics

Re: Project Patina Burb

Just went out and worked on installing the hatch. I've decided not to try and cut out and put the original lock and key. Instead I'm going to install a cable to open it. It went on great and shuts great.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Bryan, I would like for you to check out your 67 hub caps that you got from Rus. When I went thru them and sold him a set, I did not realize that I have 2 styles. Out of the 4 that I kept, there is 3 of one style and 1 of another style. Check out the bowtie in the center and make sure they are all the same. I have one that the bowtie is raised up and 3 that the are level. It is hard to see in the picture but the 1st picture and the cap on the right in the last picture is the one that is raised and the 2nd picture and the left one in the last picture is the one that is level. I really do not want you to get these painted and then find out you have 2 different ones. Let me know what you find out. Thanks.

Which one is the odd one like? Does it have the raised bowtie or the flush?

Sanded it down yesterday and I'm ready for paint. I'm going to try to knock it out on the 28th. That's the next day that I'm off. I ordered my stuff yesterday to make it look patina, just need to go grab the paint.

Re: Project Patina Burb

About to start painting the white on top today.

Also, found another member on the board that it attempting to do what I REALLY want to do instead of using 15 inch steelies with the 67 caps. He's using the Mobsteel wheels with the 67 caps. This is a pic of the 18's, but I'll use the 20's.

Joe is always modifying something and does and excellent job doing it. He was telling me at a show a couple weeks ago about his wheels and hub caps. It is because of him that I found out my center cap do not match. Let me know what your odd cap is like and I will see if we can get it corrected.

Not yet, but they loved to sit in the seats and bounce around when I was mocking them up.

Russ, did you say you mixed the Iron B in the paint? Or brushed it on afterward? I forget.
