Thanks guys. It is really clean. Has some minor issues, but nothing I can't handle. Funny, I was looking for one to convert but this one might be too nice. The 4wd is fun in the snow, too

Yup, got the original docs. I was after it the first time, too. It was a STEAL at that price. The guy I got it from just flipped it, but he came WAY down off his asking price.

Yeah that is good Missed it the first time about a year ago! wow what a deal that would have been. Yeah i met that guy after he bought it. He was thinking he could triple his money easy. I guess after a few no bids on EBAY he came down to reality? I am glad you got man its a very nice Blazer. Those are getting hard to come by in that condition. Cant wait to see the road trip pics and hear the story of your trip! Safe travels and again congrats on the great buy!!

Ok, here's a shot from inside my seedy motel this morning. I got caught in the blizzard in east CO and this was the only vacancy in 50mi radius. -15° windchill when I got started- the choke and heater work great

This evening's 'fun'. Alt bracket bolt snapped flush with the head
 I managed to rig it with a few coat hangers to get me down the road. I did not pack a drill or screw extractors (who could have seen this coming?), so I'll try to find a place to buy tools in the morning... Upside is I'm getting familiar with my new truck  Posted via Mobile Device

Since it looks like the bolt sheared (as opposed to having the threads lock up and the rest twisting off) you might get away with using a hammer and a center punch (or a small drift punch sharpened at an angle) to tap the bolt around to get it to back out. Gently tap at it at an angle to one side of the diameter so it tries to spin counterclockwise (obviously) and it may back out without you having to buy a drill and screw extractors.
If it doesn't work, you haven't lost anything and it might save you the time and expense of buying more stuff.

Tried the twist it out trick- no dice. Bought a cheap drill, extractors, and extension cord at Lowes and it zipped right out. Had to pull the fan and shroud to get to it. Replaced with grade 8 and red thread locker. All this in the hotel parking lot

Wow Gringo, I just drove my '72 LWB from Kansas City back to NJ (about 1300 miles) without any problems...now I'm feeling that I was pretty lucky! Good Luck with the Blazer!
