Coke 600

Late in the race with Kahne dominating DW still picks Dale Jr. to win. What a dork. Also really tired of the Danica Love fest.
Glad to see the number 5 in victory lane.

Re: Coke 600

DW knows if dale jr wins ,the money flows in so does that make him a dork ok but a rich one ,know what upsets me was the indy 500 on ABC .of course they had to show ashley judd every lap and when dario won ,they went to her first for a interview ,like if she was the one that won the 500
oh well what you gonna do

Re: Coke 600

I to am tired of the boloney they do in nascar now. Its like a circus now. Most so called fans would not even watch unless they can gamble on it. My son he gets to drive the drivers around the tracks when they do the driver introductions in nascar. I don't think Dale even try's anymore

Re: Coke 600

Nascar has it's problems, including being kind of boring this year, but Indy car racing......might as well watch with the tv turned off. Just as exciting that way

There is not one single part on a NASCAR "stock" car that will interchange with anything you can buy in a showroom, Not one single part.

Does that mean the Camry I just ordered won't have a 700 hp V8 under the hood like the salesman told me ?

Re: Coke 600

well they do still have to buy the engine blocks from the factory. Not a dealer but the factory. that qualifies it as a stock car does it not ??? Even if the block is something you would never run on the street it is still a stock part hahaha. or at the minimum a factory part. hahahha. yeah really calls it stock car racing anymore if you notice. Just us regular old farts..Yes I agree on Indy racing, I would rather watch the Dominican Republic teams play baseball. much more entertaining than indy racing. Too bad it can't be shown on tv here.

Cup races are nothing more than a glorified IROC race. All the cars are the same - there's virtually no room for innovation because there's so many rules.

Its like Sicklajoie said about Cup racing that there is not anymore room for innovation, but a guy running high 9's on bias plies is pretty cool if you ask me.

Also I do like to go to Nascar races but a part of me died when they went to fuel injection, and how long before Honda and Nissan are racing in it?

Re: Coke 600

I'm sorry guy's but I've tried to watch the Nascar racing,DW ruins it for me!! I've even turned the volume off to get away from his rambling about the different drivers. I just can't get wound up and fall a sleep in my chair. I don't like the way ESPN covers the NHRA Racing at all. It's just really a good thing we all like something different

I agree, DW is an annoying goober and ruins the broadcast IMO.

Classic understatement, Gene.... and I swear if he doesn't stop hollering "boogity boogity boogity" at the start of every race, I might be one of those guys you read about who got arrested for shooting out his TV.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother to watch, besides needing a nap. The contrived cautions are bad enough, but the mandatory 'safety' cautions (to check tire wear if the track is green) drive me crazy. That's fine for the kiddie races, but this is the big league. These guys are supposed to be professionals. Let 'em race.

Yeah I know, I toned it down due to the possibility of there being a DW fan around. I mute the TV at the start of every race until ABC/ESPN takes over. And you're exactly right, NASCAR lately is a miracle cure for insomnia.

Re: Coke 600

I was into Nascar there for a while, but I haven't watched it for the last couple years. It just doesn't seem right to me to have 'non-American' car brands running... And I know that the models they are running are made here, but it just isn't right to me...

Re: Coke 600

I used to love Nascar, I had season tickets at the Kansas Speedway, But they have ruined it. It is so boring I can hardly watch it.

Re: Coke 600

I prefer to listen to the MRN call on the radio. Those guys are much better than the TV guys in my opinion. I had tickets too Mike, the first 6 years, wouldn't go again. You can pretty much skip the entire race and watch the last 10 laps and get the same entertainment.
