Are all cabs the same

Are the 68-72 1/2, 3/4 & 1 ton cabs all the same ? Thanks

externally, I believe so. I know there are differences between A/C and non-A/C, but that is interior only.

There is also a difference with the '67's in terms of ashtray and lighter I think... That should be about it.

The 67/68 has the provisions for the under dash lever style emergency brake whereas the 69-72 has the floor pedal style emergency brake.

The other difference is the throttle cable. It's the cable style on 71/72 and push-rod style on 67-70. I may have those cutofff years incorrect.

Thanks for the info. Are the cab mounts the same say like between a 1/2T & a 1 ton?

I think there are differences in the fire wall as well such as cable throttle and rod throttle and brake booster holes etc. At least that has been my experience

Cab mounts should be the same, and then you have the low and high hump floors. Wiring harnesses are different and that can be an issue when switching cabs and ending up with mismatch connecters and switches.

if we reword the question a little...
Lookin at the OP's avatar, he has a 67 or 68 (no marker on the fender, but one on the bed)
Q. Is a 67/68 1/2 ton cab, the same as a 3/4 ton or one ton?
A. Basicly, yes.
There are small things in the same year or years that throw a wrench in it, but basicly they are the same save for things like A/C (dash and firewall) verses non A/C, high hump floor (4X4, 4 speed, big block with Th400) verses low hump... but the general cab, cab mounts, fender mounts, dash, seat mounts so on and so on... will all match up.
67 and 68 are very close to each other with the rear window, ignition switch hole and lighter hole and ash tray chainging in 68, but otherwise they match up fine.
In 69/70 the foot controlled E brake, revised fuse block and harness came in, making swaps onto older ones a little more involved. in 70 the VIN plate was all put on one plate instead of two like the 67 - 69.
71/72 added a fresh air vent in the door jamb and the cable throttle which has a revised hole in the forewall. 71 has a rear view mirror raised mounting pad that no other year has.
Any cab 67 - 72, 2 wheel drive or 4X4, 10, 20, or 30 can be used on any other model 67 - 72, but there's tell tale signs and small mods needed when 'mixing them up'.

72 has no interior rear view mirror provision either.

What’s really interesting is the model years have a sequential pattern 68 came after 67, 69 after 68, 70 after 69 and so on…….I think its all part of some secret squirrel society plot to take over our government.

Also like tex said 72 has no interior rear view mirror provision so they dont want you looking back as the squirrels shadow your every move.

71 was the only year for mirror mounting provisions. 67 - 69 it was an option, and they's just drill holes and mount the mirror, in 70 it was the same, but standard equipment, then in 72 the feds required the anti glare mirror (black mirror backing) and they glued it to the glass.

I got one more... 67 cabs (at least the early ones...) don't have a provision in the door jamb for the screw that attaches the spring for the jack accessory bag.

The jack accessories are mounted under the seat somehow with a big long spring like blazers.
