Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

yes i would like to see pics of those repops, mine have normal rust where the battery acid get it .i was going to cut out that spot and repair but on further inspection the two top innner bolt holes the one's with the reinforcement tabs, are rusted and it looks like more to fix than it is worth.i have a buddy with a couple of good one's i'll see if i can scam them from him. but still intrested in repops and pics. thanks bruce

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

i put new repop's on my '67. they did not fit well at all. there where 14 shims used to try to get everything to line up. found some oem fenders and had them painted and installed with out any shims!!!! fit great....

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

There have been some pretty nice trucks that have aftermarket inners and most people did not even realize it after they were installed. Also if choping them up for custom suspension I would use after market. We don't seem to have the problems putting them on that some do.

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

I have bought repops, but haven't installed them yet. All i know is that the repop weighs more than the original.

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

Mine fit OK, but I'm also using repro fenders. My biggest problem was that once the bolts were lined up in the fenders, fenders aligned with the grill and cab... etc... I couldn't get the front bolts that go into the core support in on either inner fender without a fight.

Overall, the seem to be pretty decent.

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

On my pickup, they worked OK, but you cannot beat factory. If you are slightly "anal" then do the factory, but if you are going to skimp on one part of your rig, here is the place to do it, kind of hidden.

Re: aftermarket inner fenders ok or junk ?

there are more than three toolings on these inner fenders. You can't really make a categorical statement about "Repops". If you get feedback from a member make sure you're asking which brand they had the issue with.
