I think that's a 292. 6" tall lifter covers. 3-groove Harmonic Balancer. Motor mount forward of the fuel pump. Pre- '67 with the Chevrolet script on the valve cover, and blue flame six engine color. P/S gear for a 292 is rare.

I agree^.Make sure you keep track of the pulleys. They sometimes get overlooked in a PS upgrade.

Re: Need some help ID'ing this 6 cyl ps setup

Well I got it all off except the crank shaft pulley, it has a key on it, I guess I'll have to find a puller to get it off

Randy,... how much for all the pulleys, brackets, hoses, and pump,... shipped to 65251?
Don't really need it,... but if it's cheap enough I will take it off your hands.

Re: Need some help ID'ing this 6 cyl ps setup

Is it just a bad angle, or is it sitting on the wrong right-side tower?

292s have that offset motor mounting. The passenger side mount is forward of the fuel pump. L6 250s/230s have symmetrical motor mounts. My guess is that GM did this with the 292 to counter act torque from the 1.75" taller engine. They had to have a good reason to necessitate this kind of production change, since it requires a special 292-only cam as well.
Unless it is a bad angle, too -- or maybe one or both the mounts are loose from what went on in the junkyard before he got it.

Hey Randy-- PM sent.

Naw, what I meant was it looks like the motor mount is only sitting on about 1/2 of a 250 style tower. Gotta just be a wierd angle.

Yeah. I see that now. Somebody in a hurry dropped a 292 into a bay that once had a 250 in it, and wasn't interested in wasting time by moving the tower forward to the next holes. Maybe a junkyard jury rig.

Now I wish I hadn't seen it. I really need one of those 292 right side mounts, but hey-maybe I don't, after all!

Re: Need some help ID'ing this 6 cyl ps setup

Well actually it has V8 motor stands and 6 cylinder mounts and the pass side motor stand has a bracket welded to it so it could sit in there I tried pulling the pulley tonight but I do not have the right puller, I'm tryign to find one. I'll let you 2 know when I decide to sell it, or actually get it off. Thanks Randy
