Pics of Old Yeller - I'm back in the saddle again!

I haven't been on the board in ages because my restoration/rebuild of Old Yeller has languished for months. I finally got the carburetor tuned well enough to quit fouling the plugs at idle and got some new rubber on the ground and so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos before sun down.

Except for assembling the short block and shooting the paint, I did everything else myself.

I didn't have time to get any photos from under the hood. But I'll post them up at the next opportunity.

Sharp eyes should notice a few things missing or out of place on the driver's side. Hope you enjoy.

Looks like you have a 4wd shift lever. Does it hit the dash in second?

It's the stock shift lever. If there's supposed to be some kind of difference between 4wd and 2wd shifters I wouldn't know. It's never hit the dash although the PO installed an under dash AC unit and it did hit it when making a hard shift to second. While I had everything apart I did the "Sloppy Shifter Cure" and it worked wonders. It's so much better I feel like I'm running a Richmond.

One nice thing about having granny low gear is it helps with starting off at a normal speed with such a lumpy cam.

Lovely long stepper! You don't see a lot of yellow trucks these days. What yellow is that btw?

The late afternoon sun is making it look slightly more orange than it would be if the sun was overhead but I repainted it the original '70 Harvest Gold. And originally it was solid yellow but when I bought it in 1990 the second owner had painted the top white. I liked it that way and added a little pearl to the white to make it have some extra shine.
