bug shield, bra, or coating?

i just got my truck back with new paint (i'll post pics maybe next week when it is all put back together and the clear is wetsanded) and i dont want to get all the bug and rock chips on the front of the hood again... when i called about the lund bug shield i was told they dont make them anymore, so does anyone know where i can get a shield, a bra (this is my first choice but i dont think they make them) or some sort of clear coat to protect my paint from chips?

LMC truck parts has a bug shield that follows the contour of the hood. Not very noticable!. Comes in clear, or paintable to match your color.

My blazer had one of those flat smoked plexy bug shields on it when I bought it. It was the first thing to come off... The PO cut some notches into the grill to get it to fit .

Can't help ya on where to get the stuff but I personally think that a bra on any vehicle looks terrible and shouldn't be used, unless you are driving a far distance to a show or something.

What is the point of beautiful paint if you can't see it? I know it gets dinged up, I about cryed when I got the first scratch on my Chevelle but then I said to myself "What looks better, a couple of small scratches on the hood or a big black thing covering up the rest of my car."

Just my opinion man and do what you want, despite what I like, it is your truck and not mine. You have a beautiful truck too!

When I bought my truck, it came with a Deflecta-Shield attached to the hood. As far as I can tell, it is just the hood that has holes for it to attach, no grille mods. It looks kinda goofy, is big and kinda smoky like bouncytruck said, and kinda contoured to the shape of the hood, and has a large Allis-Chalmers sticker on either side of it. It does work, so I guess I'm leavin it on for now.

The bra can ruin the paint too.

go to your local sign shop and ask them if they have clear vinyl. I used it on my s-10 when i got it painted and no chips and no bugs every couple years I pull it off and replace it is that simple. if put on corectly you will never see it. just my $.02

3M has some plastic stuff they can put on vehicles that acts as an invisible bra.

Clear contact paper. I don't remember where I saw this, but someone was putting clear contact paper all across the front of their classic car for a trip across the country. Might have been an article on the Power Tour. I can't remember.

Here is a picture of my truck before I bought it. You can see the bug shield. It was just a flat thing that stuck up. If anyone wants it, its in my garage...

I plan on Rhino lining a bra on my hood, when I get the Blazer painted.
