Re: 60-66's in the movies

you guys were talking about 1 in forest gump but no one posted it... im watching it right now and just saw it, cant find a pic but heres a youtube video with the scene, not the actual scene tho its a song played over it... its 40 seconds in, gotta be a 62 or 63, looks like it has a wraparound windshield and later style hood

I really only know the 60-66's but theres another old pickup behind it, dont know what it is

I watched it a couple of months ago I could swear it changed from a 67-72 bodystyle when they are in the driveway, to a 60-66 style when they are in the street.

So your truck has a bit of history behind it.

Yes, I pulled and kept some of the broken glass that was broken in the scene where Ben Kingsly broke the drivers window to get to the villan.

cant find a picture but theres a 4-5-6 camper in Surfwise, a documentary on Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz and his family. Doc was a surfer with a family of 9 kids, they all lived in a camper (they had multiple throughout the documentary) and traveled the world surfing. very cool and interesting movie

I've seen our trucks pop up in the tv show "Supernatural". and that 67 Impala is sweet!
That '67 Impala is what got me hooked on that show in the first place. Seems they like to use a lot of classic GM vehicles in there. Now I am completely hooked, it is the only tv show I have ever followed.

My wife is re-watching a TV show from her teen years; Roswell. I couldn't help but catch a few episodes here and there. If I'm not mistaken I believe there is a 4-5-6 pickup parked on the side of one of the main characters homes. Haven't seen a good enough shot yet to know what it is exactly, maybe I'll figure it out soon.

Also I believe in the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" (the 73 Mach 1 version), there is a wrecker they use to tow a few vehicles and actually wind up in a bit of a chase in. If memory serves me correctly it also was a 60-66 GM truck. I'll have to watch it again, it has been too long. I know they are all over in the movie as background and traffic vehicles though.

The Steve McQueen classic "Bullitt" has a few on the San Fransisco streets during the famed chase scene.

Re: 60-66's in the movies

I watched a movie the other day on Showtime or TMC called 'Village Barber Shop' with John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin from Cheers). In it his female partner drives a '63 LB 3/4 ton. That's the main thing that kept me watching. Wasn't a bad flick...

Re: 60-66's in the movies

There is a trailer on the Iron Man 2 DVD for a movie called "Super 8" that starts with a orange Chevy driving onto railroad tracks and hitting a train head-on.

Re: 60-66's in the movies

With the death of Barbara Billingsly and a trip down memory lane for Leave it to Beaver, I was doing a bit of research on the old house they used in the TV show. The house is next door to another on "colonial St, on the Back Lot. The house next door is used in Desperate Housewives, and check our whats in the driveway!

Not a movie, but does anyone remember a Chevy truck commercial from a few years back done in black and white with a K-series '64-'66 in the woods?

Re: 60-66's in the movies

Coincidence, I watced "Keith" today since it was on netflix and he has a 1963. He drives it alot throughtout the movie, can be seen buying a front fender, putting on a new chrome bumper and a rebuilt carb and so on. Truck is a Long bed step V8 auto.
