After a few years of searching for the perfect Blazer, I've settled for "good enough" After Driving 23 hours straight, we're home and I have a few questions for the Blazer Gurus'. The little truck was built by someone with good intentions but lacked skills in the fabricating dept. My question is about the inner rockers or "rockers boxes" as I have heard them called before. This truck doesn't have any, will this be a problem? I plan on raising the rear bed floor to accomadate a large c notch in the frame rails and installing some small wheel tubs to fit 22"x10" rear wheels. I would like to get the truck bagged next week and start cutting on the bed floor but would like to know how important the rocker boxes are for integrity. I will also be posting the grille, wheels, and seats and a soft top for sale. Here are some pics, and thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like your on your way to a sweet Blazer. You will need to do something to support the body pan. Without the rocker baxrs the pan will sag and the doors won't open properly....

Nice looking 2wd.

The Rocker boxes are now repop'd. Just about every board vendor sells them. They don't repop one of the end caps.

Here is a pic of someone's creative solution to building rocker boxes before they started making the reproductions.

Man you better get yourself some rocker boxes but before you do that you better treat the bottoms of the floors they installed so you do not have rust in between the floors and rocker boxes. Oh, by the way, very nice Blazer. Let me know if you really need to refab the rear wheel houses to fit 22's because I want to run 22's in the rear of mine but I have the rear coil over kit from CCP industries. Let me know what you do please when you get to that area. Nice start.

Way2lo2 and I have been stalking eachother looking for the right 2wd Blazer. I had actually posted pics of that one about a month ago and was just about to buy it. There were also a couple on ebay that we were both bidding on.

Glad to see you got one. I had to settle on a '69 burb for the time being.

Yep, I planned on doing some blasting and some rustmort (product we use at work) and paint prior to finishing that area off. As far as the tubs, I am going to install them high in the bed side because the truck will have a hammered ride height. I will be posting pics as soon as I get started.

I am pretty sure they are 17"x8" with a 255/60? I can check to make sure.

I kinda suspected you were bidding on the same blazers as me. Good luck finding one. I am going to start working on mine the minute i hve a chance but in 2 weeks I am looking at 2 more so this one may be up for sale, I'll keep you posted.

Yea the 6 speed is fun and the motor is pretty radical too, we made a short exhibition pass in front of the shop when we unloaded it off the trailer, the neigbors weren't impressed but I was. What's your blazer like?

Thanks Carter, i'm not going to do anything that hasn't been done before, cap off the doors even with the bed, rake the windshield and set that ***** on the ground. This one will be different then the rest of my projects which get everything at once and inturn are out of commision for 2 years, I will be driving this one as I work on it.
