Crew

Does anyone know whose truck this is? I'm trying to figure out if it is an original that he added the drivers side door or what. I would like to know who has converted a suburban to one of these? Is the wheelbase the same? I'm thinking of trying to find a shot sub and starting to work. Any info is appreciated. pursleyb@merkel.esc14.net

Nice pic! (did you get it from my site?
It turns out, it is an owner job. I found it for sale on the web back in '99, it was claimed to be a rare factory conversion. But all my resaerch says otherwise.
It apears to have doors on both sides. (look real hard)
I have no idea who owns it now.

I think I actually might have had pics of that truck during it's conversion. If I'm right, it was a suburban to begin with, that had a lot of modifications done. Not 100% sure though.

I got the actual picture from a guy who restores these trucks around here and scanned it. In your opinion, does it have the same wheelbase as a sub? If so, is that a normal short bed on it? If so, is the "crew" part of the cab shortened to accomplish this? lots of questions, BUT I WANT ONE!!!!

Wonder where I got the idea it was crews' crew. Isn't that the crew where the body man made a fourth door? Lots of fabbing! I wouldn't be able to do it, but maybe I could talk ebfabman into it! Pro bono of course.

I have a pic alot like the black one. I got it from a guy that used to be on the suburban board. He built his from a sub. He told me he streched the frame 24" between the wheels and cut 18" off the rear. I started building one a couple months ago but it got put on hold for awhile. The hardest parts I've found so far is the door post for the 4th door and the sub has a taller roof(from the driprail up).

I always figured that truck started off life as a truck like Crew's old crew a hired out or whatever factory thing with the back oors redone to look nicer cause I dunno about all fyou, but the blank triangle looks tacky, I would say it isn't a burb becasue look at the front door window frame, if it was a burb, why would they go back to a truck window frame, and the roof height doesn't look burbish to me.

Damn...the black 4x4 crew cab is sweet! It would be great to go drive over a brand-new $35,000 Ford super-crew in that . I agree, the suburban conversion looks alot cleaner then the one with 4 pickup dorrs on it.

the roof on that last one does look different, sort of like this one

so i guess the one in my original post was a truck to start with, then he put another door on the drivers side. I guess I should just face the fact I'll never have one.....

what happened to my pic in the first post? I guess my webserver died....

Ok, on the 'burb ones, did they just put fake handles there without having real doors?
