Steering column questions please help

I'm in the process of putting my 1989 gmc suburban back on the highway and i need a new steering column. I found one on line for a good price but want to make sure it works before i buy it. The seller said it came out of a 1989 C1500 Sierra. I've looked the truck up on line and its right when the bodt style changed.....does anyone know if it will work?????

Re: Steering column questions please help

I'm thinking they are different, but to what extent, I don't know. There is definitely a line from the R/V Suburbans/Blazers/1 ton trucks vs. the C/K Trucks.

Found one post that said they are different "No sir, not even close, for several reasons - mostly the wiring, but also they are physically quite different."

Correct. Very different. Some inside parts swap over
Good news the is 81-91 columns are basically the same.
Whats wrong with current one you have? I have rebuilt more than I care to remember. Pretty easy job with few special tools.
