I ordered a few parts and will post them as they arrive. I got the first one today. It looks like it will be hours and hours of fun, or days and days of fun. I've never done any major wiring install before. I know a few others on the board have completed theirs, so I have some people to get guidance from.

I also got the gauage harness, but still have to purchase my Auto Meter Speedo and Tacho gauges, Then off to PUTTERS for assembly.

what gauges did you get and do they all have the same look to them? from the pic it looks like the numbers on the water gauge are a little bigger.

I'm going to fab a new cluster for my truck out of a glove box door, so i'd be interested in seeing some details to how you go about mounting and wiring the new gauges.

Yeah the numbers look a bit different, but the only other guages had a full sweep.

Putter (another member) has mounted and wired Auto Meter guages for other members. Here is the link to his work.

Just kidding~ Today was spent gapping the passinger side door as I did the drivers side awhile back. Then I dumped about 3/4 of a gallon of filler onto the cab and sanded off 5gal of dust! The cab is looking good and should be in primmer this weekend

You almost had me. I think my jaw hit the floor. It is hard to believe we have come so far in a short amount of time. I did not think I would ever get the truck done. I guess sometimes it is better to have someone ( Very Experienced Someone) do the work for you. I can't wait to the cab, maybe it will have some seats in it? Maybe?.

Well I did not get as much done this weekend as I wanted. My parents and the in-laws came over Saturday to see all the pics of Europe and have dinner and the In-laws stayed the night. But I did get to take my Father in-laws new C5 Vett for a run up to the lake. Over 120 in 4th and never even tried 5th or 6th

Ok well I did get the back of the cab and the door jambs all roughed in as well as both rain gutters and the rear seam of the cab. I still have the front roof lip work to finish up before all metal work on the cab will be done. I put on two heave coats of fill primmer tonight so I will start block sanding it this week and see what else needs attention. Here are a few pics to show that I am not a total slacker

How did you fill the seam where the roof meets the back of the cab? I have been planning to do this to my truck but I'm not sure how to go about it. Do you have any concerns about cracks forming in that area? Awesome work!

It was fully welded and filed to shape before being skimmed and blocked. I have no concerns of it cracking.

what about those drip rails? it looks like theyre trimmed down as opposed to flat out shaving them like i was thinking of doing to mine.. might still look factory and be somewhat functional as a drip rail? (i like your way) is that what you were going for? looks awesome though for sure!!

They were 100% removed all the way into the jamb then a 3/8" rod was welded in place changing the opening size of the door ever so slightly to close up the gap a bit. Then the interior of thejamb had another piece of filler welded in to smooth out the jamb. And no this was not the look that I was going for, The owner of the truck designed it and I am just helping bring it about

ITS LOOKING GREAT, I can't wait to see it in person. I hope that the parts I ordered will be here for you on Friday. Couple more weeks and maybe the frame, cab, front metal, and bed will all be one. And after 5 yeare I will see the truck as a whole again.

Well I got home about 11:30 last night and the chassie followed me all the way with out falling off I hope to have the cab blocked out by Monday so I can drop it on the frame before I take off to SEMA on Tuesday. Then as soon as I get back I will start mocking up all the front sheet metal so we can see what gaps need tweaking and what can stay the way it is. I also have two color samples to try out on a spare fender he sent with me so he can see just what shade he wants.

The chassie is all complete, powder coated, new lines, tank, motor, trany and any other misc. part that could be replaced. Nice Job!

Should have the front drip rail all finished today then I can finish blocking out the remainder of the cab and re-prime. Then drop it on the frame and have fun

Got it primmed and it looks great. I will leave it like this untill all sheet metal is fit and modified if needed then block and paint

I have not seen it is person since Kevin started working on the roof. Just from the pictures it looks a thousands times better than when he got the cab from me. Awesome work, I can't wait to see it in person. Thanks Kevin.

As for SEMA, I'm already looking for some to get me a hook up for next year. I think everyone should go at least once in their life. Maybe we should make plans for a 67-72 Chevy Truck board meeting there next year. Anywaym have fun Kevin,

Yes it is nice not having to clime on a stool so you can streach accross a roof to try and do good work. Not to mention I would guess it saved about 3-6hrs so far in ease of work. Plus if you are comfy you will do better work

As for the tip and flip yes I am still waiting for it as well. The proto type is built but I still need to pull my running 2wd apart so I can double check all dimentions before finishing up the plans. I have moved around several vehicals in my shop and yard so this can happen after SEMA. Hey by the way, ya wanta go
