Here are a few more. First ones are of two fender he had, the problem is that one of them (the NOS one ) is for a 2ton truck or somthing. It has a different fender attachment then our trucks do. Then I thru a few in from yesterday, I wanted to try out a new HVLP gun I picked up.

Looking Great!!!! Rokcrln i noticed you used your engine hoist to lift the cab of the truck. How did you do that? I would really like to see any pics if you get a chance. Again great job so far and keep up the great work.

Thanks and plans for the cab lift will be done sood as well. I still need to find a stock fleet bed to make a few adjustments to the cab/bed lift. I will post up a link as soon as they are ready.

Thats the first time in six years Lemon Drop has had a front end on. I will finally get a look at how the 4/6 drop will look.

I see the difference in the fender you were talking about. I'm curious, is it possible to remove the bracket and attach it to the other fender?

I wanted to check into that before telling you to look for another fender because the other one is shot! Their is rust inbetween the layer around the fender.

I will wait for the final word on the white fender. I guess I may have to buy a reproduction fender, so much for keeping the front sheet metal all Original GM parts.

Looks like he will be able to transfer a bracket over, they look the sam underneath. I have faith in Kevin and your project.

Here are two test samples. The rear is 79 corvette yellow by PPG and the front is SunBurst yellow by dupont. The Dupont covers much better than does the PPG but yellow is always bad about coverage. Clear has not yet been sprayed on and will help bring out the true shade.
Also this is a mock up fender only and no body work was done other than a quick D/A pass.

I like the front color better. The corvette yellow always looked to orange to me for a yellow color. Kevin, a little trick I learned the last time I sprayed yellow and it really made it scream is go over a white base sealer.

I like the yellow one No seriously i like the lighter yellow because it fits the name of the truck better. I also have seen a yellow with a little gold pearl mixed in and it look beautiful!!! Good job and keep us posted!

When do you have the plans for the cab lift using the motor hoist. I want one pretty soon!!!!!!!!!

Yes I should have mentioned it will be going over white sealer. The grey is just what I had today to give it a shot. I also like the front color better and that is the way the owner was heading even before spraying just by looking at it wet.
The cab lift will be very soon, I just got back from SEMA friday night and it is in the plans for the next week or two. I just pulled my bed out from storage so I can put it back together and try the lift on it as well. Here are a few pics from today doing some yard clean up. I also pulled my chassie out of storage so I can get it moving along as well.

Yep, that's good info. I was painting a truck using mixing base yellow once. I couldn't get it to cover the gray DP for crap. I shot it with white DP and the yellow covered sooo much better...

Boy you said it. What makes it harder is I wish I had the talent to do the work myself, but then it would not have turned out aswell. Maybe Kevin has an apprentice program. I think that body and paint is the peck of the build, after that I hope it will all be down hill.

HEY GOOD WORK! ESPECIALLY FOR THE FIREWALL. MINE IS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE WIRE GUTTER. DID YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM OR WERE YOU JUST SHAVING IT JUST TO SHAVE IT? I WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD CUT OFF ALL OF THE RUST INSIDE THE GUTTER AND CUT OFF THAT LIP THAT COMES UP, OR JUST WELD OVER THE TOP OF IT, KINDA LIKE YOURS AT AN ANGLE?

This entire cab was in great shape when I started so it was just for affect! I think it got it.

Well here is a shot of teh fender with clear on it. I did not even take a pic of the rear color as it is way off from what the owner wants. This color is really going to pop once it over white base and then color sanded and polished to a mirror finish!

I also had a chance tonight inbetween clear coats to mock up my bed and try out the cab/bed lift. It worked out great!!! It will balance out real easy for a long bed or short as well as if the gate is on or off. Right now it will only be for a fleet side but I will work on it for a step as well. I should have some time this week to get all the dimentions and build pics ready to head off to the printers and be ready to ship next week

Man, I love the Vette yellow, that''s the "if my truck was straight..." color of my dreams.

I think the lighter yellow for this project will be sweet, though! Some day my sheet metal might be in good enough shape to justify the Vette yellow, but I doubt it.

No it is safe to assume you will not see a heater But it will have both heat and A/C.

I started the bed today and spentt a few hours getting the shell done. I installed the new gate latches and they seem nice but I don't care for teh rubber O-ring they supply for the catch. I thing a piece of delron (sp?) would be nicer. These tend to pop out of place if you are not lined up just right.
