conversion to power steering

I am hoping to install power steering in my 1968 GMC pickup 230/6 cyl, 3 speed column, looking for advice, ideas, or a thread here I can look at. Thanks

Ideal method:
*Purchase junk truck that has the exact same engine set up as yours
*Set junk truck next to your truck
*Remove components one at a time from each truck and install the PS components on your truck
*Place Manual parts in a storage container under your workbench
*Strip any other useful parts off junk truck
*Sell remains of junk truck to a junk yard (preferably for as much as you paid for it)
*Drive your truck

I agree with the Ideal method. But sometimes that’s hard to do. Power steering setups for the non-integral head 6 cylinders are in demand and command premium pricing compared to the V8 trucks.

Becoming a paying member here and put a wanted ad in parts section. eBay has some conversion kits using aftermarket parts.

With the scarcity and high cost of PS brackets for the inline 6 these days, there are alternative methods to get power steering into your truck if you're not worried about keeping it stock.

The p/s brackets and pulleys can also be found on cars like Novas.
