Clutch disk size

My throw out bearing on my 70 C-10 has just started to do some intermittent squealing so I would like to buy a new clutch kit and have it ready for install when I pull the current one out.

The engine is a 350 ( out of 80-82 Camaro ) with a Saginaw 456 torque tube tail shaft 4-speed. I know that the input shaft is 1-1/8, 10 spline. All I need now is to find out what the disc size is. Any tips on how to find out w/o pulling it apart?

From what I've researched in the forums so far, I won't know until it's out.

I'm hoping to minimize the downtime because I really like driving it.

Your transmission is a Muncie SM465 transmission if it is the granny low 4 speed factory installed.

The torque tube disappeared in the early 1950’s. It is solidly attached to the rearend and the driveshaft runs inside the tube.

My experience with SM465 trucks is they have a 12” clutch. That’s 1/2 ton 4x4 and 3/4 ton 2x4 but no 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive trucks.

But since yours has been apart, all bets are off as to what the previous owner would have installed. But you should be able to pull the dust cover and visually see which point the pressure plate covers on the flywheel and tell if it’s the 12” setup or not I would think.
