Re: It's Begun...

Back from Siberia...
No kidding, it may have well been up there.
Where it was for 'temporary' storage was hard to get to and pretty much impossible to work out of.

So I brought it back home today.
Hopefully something will start to happen again over the spring/summer of this year.

Why do projects seem to stall on the downward leg, so to speak?

P.S. - your looking at a totally rust free 70 chevy truck by the way...

While it is on the trailor, you can bring it down here.

Can't wait to see it whole again.

Not for who ever buys it.

Things change and change is generally for the better.

How about a little reassurance that you aren't getting out of the game completely???

I see that you are selling this truck AND your immaculate 1st Gen K5, AND that you're doing a huge "fire sale" of your parts yard.....it's the kind of thing that can make people feel a little uneasy.

How about a little insight into where this is all heading for you???

Can't understand why it would make anyone feel any certain way.

Could you explain that one to me? Why uneasy?

Re: It's Begun...

From the sidelines (and not knowing the specifics) it just seems like a lot of VERY nice vehicles you own are going up for sale... sometimes that's an indication of someone who may have just "burned out" on the hobby, or it could just mean that you're clearing space and consolidating a little.???

I'm hoping it's the latter rather than the former, since you really seem to have a passion for the hobby, and your skills with body repair and paint are beyond amazing.

Plus...we all need some inspiration to keep going on our own projects....and your photos and buildups have provided that service on many occasions.

Fair enough

Definitely more of a consolidation thing.

It's all about space really, mainly "the lack of"

Were thinking we'd like a larger home and funding something close to what we want at this stage of our lives will not be cheap.

Option deux:
A 24ftx32ft two story addition, again same story...$$$$

The good side is that both options will net me "man space" as you call it, of which right now is EXTREMELY limited.

I've had to beg/borrow and steal for storage space over the years and it's just gotten old.

Still currently an "outdoor kid" (no garage to work on the trucks)

That being said, I have parts I've forgotten all about and that's just to freakin' many!!!

Re: It's Begun...

how about a 24x32 pole barn? selling this truck would nearly fund a project like that...

nice build, i'll be using your pics during my cab fix...

Fine idea but we need additional living space also.

Back to space issue again, no room on my current property where the town would let me build a pole barn.

Thanks for the kind words.

Almost 5 Month's Later

Started forward progress again.

Finished up one door and continued on the 2nd.
Both will be in epoxy primer by the weekend.

Have it running now also.
Bed floor is next.

Good to be moving ahead on this again.

Color

Had a few days to work on my own stuff so I figured getting a couple parts colored and cleared would be good incentive.

Nothing special for pics, just the base coat.
