99 S-10 V6 OBD port not working - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a CEL and plugged in my low buck scanner to pull a code. THe display on the scanner did nothing. This is a working scanner, I tried it on my Tahoe with no issues.

I found info about it getting power from the cig lighter, but the lighter is working. Anything else I can check?

thast it unless theres a sort in the wiring or the computer is dead

normally its the cig fuse check it just to be safe

Cig fuse is fine and the truck runs normal so the ECM is not dead. It may be tied to another fuse under the hood. I will need to check one by one.

obd 2 port is run on the cigar fuse in those trucks you can use a test light to see if one pin the plug should be hot all the time that's the power for the port. ecm can be dead and still run fine though it is unlikely that the ecm is dead
