Changing the Interior Color

Hello, I'm planning to change the color of my truck from Bronze to a metallic grey, and the interior color won't match. Most of the interior is in very good condition, and I would like to keep it.

Is there any way to dye or paint the parts (i.e. steering column, visors, door panels and vinyl part of dash), or would it look horrible ? I don't want to ruin the interior, but I can't imagine the colors working together at all.

Not sure what you are wanting to do. My whole interior was black at one time and I changed it to red. They do make paint for your dash pad and door panels.

Hi Mudder67!

What I'm hoping to do is change the interior color to a dark grey with red highlights, where the interior colors right now are bronze with tan highlights. Did you use the paint on your dash and door panels ? If so, do you have pics of how it looked afterwards ?

I'm basically trying to figure out whether painting it grey would involve swapping out all of the trim on the interior, or if I can change the color of the current parts I have.

P.S. Nice Truck!

Here is a pic of my interior. The headliner and the door handles where painted black with paint for that. They make paint for plastic, etc. The red was done when the outside of the truck was painted.

Do you remember the name of the vinyl paint (or whatever it's called) that you used ?

Heres what I used. I changed colors on the visors, dash pad armrests. After the color coat I used a coat of satin clear coat. I also had an el camino with four shades of blue on the interior, painted it all with SEM including the steering column and wheel. Most paint stores carry this product.
