Rock Auto

Anybody dealt with rock auto ? I did a search on their site, they show lots of name brand ( delco, dorman , etc...) parts for these old trucks at what looks like good prices.

Just wondering.

Re: Rock Auto

I use them quite often. Many times I find better parts than my local NAPA.

Re: Rock Auto

I use them for almost everything, shipping is quick. One problem, when you make a large order they have several warehouses and you could have multiple shipping charges if they have to pull your order from more than one warehouse. Other than that they have the best prices. I saw an interview with one of the owners and he said the reason for all the different brands is to offer customers all the options possible.

Re: Rock Auto

I was going to use them for a rebuild my drum brakes and it was going to charge me $45 for shiping for $52 in parts. And it was just springs and wheel cylinders that's it

Re: Rock Auto

I use them very often. The few times I've had an issue with a part, they've been quite easy to deal with.

...just reinforcing the statement that "size matters" and evidently so does "weight". But they are good people, good products, and good prices--often best prices even including shipping.

Yup. Top name brands if you are looking for good stuff.

YES! I've dealt with them many years and the best part is that their
phone customer service is top notch.
As with anyone, shop around, but I have found RockAuto to have cheaper prices
including shipping vs. my local parts store.

You simply have to be willing to wait for the shipping (usually fast--couple days).

Obviously, I think these guys Rock!

Re: Rock Auto

One of the better facets of their customer service is that they do let the rep make decision on a problem. I had purchased some parts and it was 3 or 4 months past their return deadline but because I rarely returned anything they made the exception.

Re: Rock Auto

I have ordered from them quite a few times.

They had a part mis-labeled on their site, so I received the wrong water pump for my sons truck. Called them, e-mailed them pics of what I got, and what it should be, they sent a new one right out. The new one was more than the one I ordered, and they did not charge me. Told me to keep the other one too.

Also received an oil pan gasket another time that was poorly packaged. It had been bent and had cracked. I called them up and they sent out a new one immediately. It came in a HUGE box, WELL protected that time. LOL No charge there either.

Some parts are cheaper local, just call around before you buy, but they will definitely keep getting business from me!

Re: Rock Auto

I have used Rock Auto many times and have been very pleased. I also use Amazon their prices are very close to Rock Auto but many times shipping is free so I end up getting a better deal.
