Re: 1973 C20 Cheyenne Super 454

Update
Been driving it every day since the install of the vent line.
No issues; 2 weeks going.
However I did run into a knock issue within the engine just after I got off the freeway.
Going to look into timing.
I spent about an hour with a car builder today.
I am considering installing the MSD Atomic Fuel injection unit.
Their recommendations seem to suggest that this will cure alot of daily driving issues, start up, and customizing the fuel delivery.
They did state that the MSD brain self learns.
This may positively affect my timing issue / engine knock as well.
Its pricey upgrade but one that may provide improved results.

Cool glad you have been able to put some miles on and it's working pretty well. Fuel injection has come a ways, but read through my 77 daily driver thread if you want to temper your expectations a bit. The fuel delivery is a decent amount of work, especially if you want to run two tanks.

Thanx!
We went over a bit about this.
He installed an aftermarket in tank fuel pump
system.
Drilled out the tank, SAFELY, then fitted in their system.
We went over the 73-87 issues.
Its all trial and error but he did seem to have a successful working system.
What I will do is go over your post and address then theorize it all out.

Re: 1973 C20 Cheyenne Super 454

Got an opportunity today to test the truck as it was 90* today.
Drove it, put it under a few demands in city and freeway driving.
No vapor lock.
So far this has resolved my fuel issues since correcting the prior failure.

Cool, glad she is running right. 90 is hot! We are still getting frost every night.
