Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

This place is pretty cool

Kind of a museum about rivers

Mixed in with aquarium exhibits

We wanted to see the ugly bottom dwellers that run rivers

I got to pet a sturgeon
But
I thought this made for a better picture

If you take a detour South towards Davenport, The American Pickers TV show original store is in LaClaire, IA. Antique Archaeology. http://www.antiquearchaeology.com/locations.php

Keep trending North and you'd have retraced Seger's "Roll Me Away." My favorite road/travel song, by far. Cool places!

Wall Drug! LOL. There are signs on the freeway for at least 200 miles on either side of Wall, advertising Wall Drug. Interesting place.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Made it to the truck stop

My camera didn't blow up
But I defiantly used up some memory

The place was really cool
Probably a hundred or two trucks
Mostly work trucks of the last 100 years

My favorite one was probably this

Love that REO. My first restoration project as a kid was a 1931 REO Speedwagon.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

The underhood inspection this morning, revealed

Loose bolt on alternator
Tightened it up
But noticed it had cut a groove on ps hose, being it was to close

Nothing a little electrical tape can't fix

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Hey Andy,
Thanks for introducing us to all your friends Tailgating

Your buddy "Worm" got kicked out...
Pretty quickly in fact
After only two salutes(with his smuggled in trumpet)

I guess Some of ND States fans weren't to excited
About his skill at getting the Iowa fans to cheer
So they complained about it

After that. Steve and joe broke out their stash
That stuff in they bring in, in the small bottles

Thank god
they were a little short!

There wasn't enough to go around
So Dirk and "smitty" never were able to gain enough momentum
Heckling the Bison fans themselves'
To have the pleasure of being escorted out to
Meet "worm" back in the parking lot
where all the free beer was

Seriously, all you guys
We had a blast in Iowa City

And I'll see you
With
Sky dog
Out west
This winter

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

I think our hotel last night had more
Permanent residents
Than over night guests

I should have known
When there was 2 cop cars in the parking lot
And one driving by slowly

Truck was a bit hard starting this morning
I just relaxed, and took pleasure
That
Our butterfly collection is growing

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

We have now made it to South Dakota

Met up with 72supr
I thought he might be driving a super

Sure enough he showed up in a beauty
Dark olive over medium olive
All original with slight hint of a patina starting

We looked over the map
Gave us some pointers for the next day or so
And told us to hold out another 50 miles for lunch
Al's Oasis. Very busy place. And quite good
