Polish the aluminum air lines
Has anyone ever got their aluminum airconditiner lines to look like chrome? Is there a trick to this? Can it be done? I want them to really shine and not be dull as they are now. This is on my '86 lines.

I'm not sure if the lines are specially coated but I wouldn't see why not. It you have the time and a buffer wheel it shouldn't be an issue.
Anyone else want to chime in on this?

use some fine steel wool it will shine it right up

Yep, I have polished the A/C lines on my 84. I did the filter/receiver canister and the lines up to the rubber connections. I started with wet-N-dry sand paper and WD-40 and then finished with a small 3" "Razor-buff" on a die grinder with a polishing compound. The lines are all polished where there is aluminum, all the way up to the compressor. Once polished, I use Mothers "Aluminum Polish" to clean them up and the Mother's "Billet Polish" to give them a mirror finish. Then I seal them with a metal sealer to keep them clean. I drive the truck to the places that I go.

i'd look for a specilty company to make me up a set of polished stainless lines that won't need any maintenence in the future
