Factory Firewall Markings (How to save?)

Curious how you have saved your firewall markings. I need to clean up this area of the firewall, but don't want to "wax" them away.

Any ideas, tips or tricks?

I am wondering the same thing . My truck is high optioned and has markings all the way across . I don't even want to change the color of the truck to try and save them

Usually what guys do is document them with photos or sketches, repaint the firewall and then put them back on.

It doesn't sound like you guys will be repainting. You might just try cleaning the firewall with soap and water, or waxing right over them. I think you'll be surprised with how durable those markings are (especially after they've been on there for 40 years!).

Can you post pics? I'm not that familiar with the markings on these "earlier" trucks.

Here are some I found on mine while re-doing it this summer. I thought it was interesting that it must have been "#87" going down the line, and it is a 1987 model year vehicle.

They are pretty durable. I think it works like this "If you want them to come off they are durable"
