Nice bull bar. I'm not a fan of chrome on a 4x4 but its a nice piece.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

hey, its been a while since ive been on the forum. the trucks looking great! nice bull bar, id paint it with that "black chrome" treatment for rims, just to give it a darker look, but it looks nice. i love the hood, ive been wanting to get one for the longest time, where'd u buy yours and how much did it cost shipped? well hope everythings good on your side, keep up the great work on the truck, cant wait till its completed!

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

got it from stylin trucks $174 shipped and NO it's not a typo. They are $180.xx shipped now, use their free shipping code on the top of their page, and it's a different part number then mine but looks the same in their pics on the site. several guys have ordered them the new part number one, haven't seen pics yet.

I went and got some spray cans mixed for underhood today, the truck is officially going to be waterworld blue metallic, it's a 2011-12 saab color. it's a dark blue with alot of flake to it. I'm going to do the firewall, inner fenders and backsides of the fenders with the spray cans, the rest is bc/cc.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

not much going on my way. I just ordered all new parking brake cables from amazon, got a steal on one and great deal on the others. I also bought my clear coat, need another gallon, 2 things of hardner, my base and reducer for it, as well as sealer, paper etc. SO not much has changed. I also got a special side project going on for it, gonna keep it under wraps for now, once I get more done on it I'll post pics.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

got my ebay headlights installed this past week, adjusted, as in fitting the grille nicely, sealed them up with silicone, installed the bubls and changed the plugins over to fit the 9005/9006 setup since I had quad sealed beams before. Got my new clear corners installed tonight and got my 4 corner mod fabbed up, the uper corners get a socket glued on to accept the 194 socket t10 setup whichever you wanna call it. I also worked on my front bumper trying to get it straight and aligned good, finally broke down and ordered the 2 DS brackets for it, shimmed the core support and the fender, worked on it's gap alot, still more to do on it. Pulled my a/c condesnor core out finally while the grille was off, going to also try and wire my front bull bar lights while it's off. I may even break down and order my new lower grille filler, paint it the blue I'm doing the truck in and then reinstall.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

LOl I know, I been lacking, been running around alot and never got any pics, now I gotta put it all on hold, slap it all back together to use the truck this week, then tear it down later and do more mods to it. I was gonna do the 4 hi mod while it was apart, body work and paint the bumper filler, wait on my new bumper brackets and finish getting the gaps right with the fender and hood. Now I guess it all has to wait again.
