Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
Just had this pop up on my IG.
The best parts supplier in our game is shutting her down. They will be missed, every 67-72 I have built has used their lowering parts. They never ever whined about shipping to Canada either, which is a big deal since a lot of companies act like we are on another planet.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
I hate to hear that. I too used their parts. They would actually discuss your project and help make decisions about how to achieve your goal.
The people that took advantage of the WWW best win. We lose. I hate trying to get answers from most of the big suppliers.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
I never used them but I'm sorry to see any business close their doors. There's too much of that these days.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
They were the first and best. In the business world it's no longer may the best man win, obviously. Now I'll have to use the products I used to trash up against ECE superiority, and deal with inferior customer service. Early Classics Enterprises will be truly missed. When I was more active in building trucks and was ordering from them once or more per year they recognized who I was. It was like dealing with friends. Bigger isn't better, but it wins out in this world today, unfortunately.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
Dang it! I had them as #1 on my choices for disc brake conversions. My truck budget is currently busted or I'd try to buy now.
Hate to hear any company going out, especially a good one.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
This is really interesting. The 67-72 trucks are more popular than they have ever been. Odd time to close the doors.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
A business can have the right products and best prices and still not be successful. Many reasons why a business shuts down though. Not always about profits.

I am going to "out" myself here, but one of the most asked question on FB is about suspension, and the most common answer is the bigger company in the market. Most of the young people don't seem to have heard about ECE.

True, Boog, you and I have seen the effects of outside pressures on a business. Things change, people get older and more often than not there is not an heir apparent.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
They could also be retiring and selling off.
Everything drop and disc brake related under my C10 is ECE. I just looked to see if I could buy an extra set of 6 lug rotors, and their either out or don't carry them anymore.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
More popularity has brought on more competition. And that has brought people to them with different suspension wants. Between laying frame, autocrossing, 4-link, etc, there are different ways to go with suspension. They were the one for the guy just wanting to lower their truck right without going too far into changing things. Plus a lot of great support products and related parts.
I'd think they would sell the business if it was for any other reason than it just ain't workin' anymore. As seen here, it's a good brand with a great reputation. I'm surprised a bigger fish didn't buy them for the name.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
That's unfortunate. I used them for the first time last month when I bought my lowering kit and they were definitely top notch.

Re: Sad day for Early Classics Enterprises
I really hate to see this. I was almost ready to order a disc brake kit for the wife's 67 & based on all the positive comments on this site I was more than likely going to buy from ECE. Time to step back and take another look at vendors
