Is there anyone else on here that gets annoyed at the fact that people don't delete their for sale ads after they sold what they were selling? I wish people did this because not only would it help out my Dad and I cause we're selling things too, but it would help everyone else selling parts. And another thing, if your going to sell more then one thing, please don't make a new thread everytime. I'm guilty of doing this in the past but was told by a friend to put everything on one post, and I have since.

Re: Posts

I don’t see where it would help at all. Completed sales are great to be able to see because it helps others price their items when they can see the going rates for parts.

And it helps buyers the same way.

I hardly ever look at the for sale section...but you have to be a subscribed member to post for sale items
And you have a window to delete....just go to edit and click delete

What annoys me is when sellers delete the price when they mark the thread "sold". To add to CG's unusually purposeful comment (), The old completed sale threads drift away from view naturally and only resurface in a search. My simple advise is, when using the search feature to find a part, look at the date of the thread before responding. Don't assume you just found an active sale. First check the date.

And that takes me to my other beef. Please mark your items as sold when they sell... Duh?

Re: Posts

See, that's the thing. Every place has a method or system. We have our reasons for doing what we do here and some things may be different from other places. Once you get with how things go it's always better anywhere. Another thing is, it's ok to ask anything here. There are no stupid questions, and no bashers allowed, here. And yet another thing is this place has always been about being helpful to one another and over the years we seem to have gathered among us a group of generally helpful friendly people here (well... there is that XXX character)

So this place is a great resource on the internet that many people continue to find through their searches. We want people to find the info they need. The parts board is more than a classified listing service like Marketplace, Ebay, or Craigslist. I'd say our archives are probably the best source for assessing value of any part or truck on the internet. Members here are looking at all those other resources and bringing that info to this place, where we talk about that stuff.

With over 255,000 members and over 8,200,000 posts this is pretty much THE place to go on the web for all things GM truck related. 👍

Well how about deleting those threads? If they have no price to help others then can those posts be deleted then?

I don't see any reason to delete the thread, it started a line of conversation about something pertinent to the board. The deal is, around here, as long as the question is legitimate, no one is going to personally attack you like they do on FB.

Bolding mine. That isn't true. It depends on who is saying it and who they are saying it to. If anyone wanted to, they can go look and find that bashing going on. But then it'll boil down to who thinks what bashing actually is, so there's that, like in depending on what a person's "definition of is, is". I had a classic example in a thread I made, but I deleted it to protect the guilty. I truly regret deleting that thread, btw. It would have made great blackmail. It has been awhile since I've seen some bashing, and interestingly enough, it was a moderator going in and modifying the offender's post to remove the bash...and then spank the offender in public.

Just FYI, posts are still here even if you delete them. I just went back and read the post in question and all the edits. Not sure which part would make good blackmail but I would be more than happy to open it, review it with you and maybe you could show me what I missed. Not being snarky at all, true offer if you feel there was an issue. I hate when folks feel that they are being treated wrong.

We are looking for mods to help right now. The information is on a post in this area

here is the link
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=798996

we are always looking for folks who can volunteer and enforce the rules globally posted.

Thanks!
