That is a ground strap and yes, it should be connected on both ends. Engine to frame, engine to body, bed to frame. This is what LocDoc was talking about.

Re: 1971 c10 16 year old girl

Hey y'all! I've got a friend who cam over yesterday to try and help me with the turn signals and he is coming back tomorrow to see if we can figure it out. After that I'm going to take it to pass emissions! Does anyone have a good video: tutorial on shortening the beds and frames on these suckers? I've seen a video on the frame, but they just ordered a bed from lmc truck and I don't have the funds to do that. I'm hoping my welding teacher will let me park it at the school to to the necessary cutting. Let me know!!

Hey y'all! CJ is coming along slowly but surely. I got the custom grill I made on yesterday, and I'm waiting for some $$$ so I can get a new turn signal switch (hopefully that's the problem) and then it's air in the tires and hopefully passing emissions. I do still need a battery tray, radiator, and working gauges but it's close.

Hey Ya'll!!! guess whos truck has working turn signals?? mine does!!
we drove it to a friends shop thats about a 1/4 mile away... now my only problem is that it dies when we let off the gas? starts up normally, but when I let off the gas it will idle for about 20 seconds then shudder and die. its got gas in it, what could be some other reasons that it does this? ive added a picture of CJ headed down the road

Sounds to me like the carburetor is not adjusted correctly

Re: 1971 c10 16 year old girl

Hey Y'all!! CJ's been doing pretty swell lately. I've got the kickdown cable (almost) installed. I just need a proper bolt set up to attach it to the carb. I got new valve covers recently, but I noticed that each cover only had one hole in it? On my old ones, the left (when you're sitting in the truck has one, but the right has 2?? Looks like the air cleaner connects to one and some hose from the carb goes to the other. Will post pics later. In the mean time what is this? In between my first two spark plugs on the driver side.

One hole is for the PCV valve. Other two are oil fill cap and breather.
