Aftermarket Gauge Cluster Questions?

Has anyone used the Dakota Digital (RTX/HDX), New Vintage USA or Classic Instrument gauge clusters designed for the Chevrolet/GM Squarebody vehicles? I'm specifically updating my 1991 V1500 Suburban with bad odometer, incorrect speedometer and no tachometer and wanting to update to have all three but haven't found any user input as to quality, longevity or difficulty of install of these brands. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Aftermarket Gauge Cluster Questions?

I have a Classic Instruments cluster on my '70 K/5
been on there for 2 years and has worked perfectly so far
It was easy to install and easy to calibrate the speedometer
I had to add a pulse generator because I had a mechanical speedo
yours should have the VSS already
That's all I got....

Re: Aftermarket Gauge Cluster Questions?

Thanks A1971Blazer, I was kinda hoping someone had input on the New Vintage USA clusters for two reasons.....1) they have 270 degree gauges and they are the most in-expensive and I am on a tight budget. My Speedo is way out and my odometer does not work at all making it hard to get maintenance items kept up properly. I was thinking there would be a lot of talk on them as the square bodies are getting old and Speedo's are getting harder and harder to find in working condition. I was going to try to find one but my luck would have another gauge crap out as soon as I got the speedo installed. : (
Thanks for the response.

Re: Aftermarket Gauge Cluster Questions?

So, I bought some Speed Hut gauges and installed them in the factory dash. I am working on the oil pressure sender location still and i'm having trouble with the speedo signal. I hooked up the speedo to wire #18 (light blue w/black stripe) from the old cluster plug and it does not work. The speedo gives me an error of "No Signal" when I attempt to program it. Anyone had this issue before? Any idea where to go. Speed Hut said they had never seen it! ...??? The speedo worked before but just not very accurate and the odometer was toast (reason for upgrade)
