Harness lead times

Just FYI. I'm putting my 1980 Camaro back together and I am ready to order a LS harness. Checked with Speartech. Their lead times are 11-13 weeks. Called Howell and they are 4-5 weeks. Neither had anything in stock.

Re: Harness lead times

its hard to get a harness. you can always buy one of those inferior wire harness they sell on ebay. They work, but the gauge wire they use is substandard. you may pay more money with the big companies but its worth it.

Re: Harness lead times

No I haven't but I've very good luck with Speartech and Howell I hate to switch suppliers.
I ordered from Howell today. I've got a fair amount work to do yet before I really need the harness. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up as they move forward with their projects. Most likely we will have a bunch of snow on the ground in late March.

Re: Harness lead times

Put a Holley terminator X max in it and call it a day. Transmission control, not hard to do your own tuning and really a good deal for what you get with the kit.

Re: Harness lead times

No doubt Holley builds some great stuff. My builds are pretty mild. L92, small cam, headers, 2800 stall converter and 3:73 gears on my current 1980 Camaro. The GM ECM handles these mods quite easily their components that will be around for years.
Again nothing against Holley.

Re: Harness lead times

That is what the terminator X is built for. Dollar for Dollar I think its a better value.
