I'm a 1/2 hour away . I'll be around looking for the deals , It's going to be packed with the weather in the 60's , Get there early and find a spot to park on the parkway .

Re: Rod Run

Yep, they’re inbound. I was in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge yesterday (I live 20 miles East), and saw numerous vehicles on trailers, and it was only Monday.
If you go, make sure your ride has a good working cooling system, because you’re going to spend A LOT of time sitting in traffic.
Often times, I tell people that if they want to “experience driving in a parade, come to Pigeon Forge”.
Anyway, this year’s show should be HUGE, so to those who go, enjoy yourselves.
On a side note: MAKE SURE YOU SECURE YOUR VEHICLES.
There was a 67 El Camino project stolen, from a hotel parking lot early Monday morning.
Perps unhooked the trailer from the guy’s truck, hooked up, and drove off, with trailer and all.
This happens quite often around the major shows, so please be aware.

I was in Pigion Forge once on my motorcycle , I'll drive 500 miles out of my way to avoid it in the future. I almost got taken out by some ahole in a golf cart shooting across the road in a crosswalk .I stopped in time and he started cursing me out that he was in the crosswalk. I kept my cool didnt feed into it because I saw a cop standing on the other side of the walk. Sure enough he stopped the guy and had him out of the cart in no time guy and his girl looked the part of a 250k motorhome owner pulling a trailer with his 100k rod .he probably had a ton in his lifted cart with 20s on it . Traffic sucked as a whole .

The Rod run sounds good though

Re: Rod Run

I was in PF on Sunday afternoon and it was already packed. As others have said, if you're going.. be prepared for traffic. It gets bad for sure.

See, normally us locals get a break from the tourist from The first week of January, until about the end of March, and some will close for their winter break and to do maintenance, and that’s when the wife and I go to meet with our friends in the assorted businesses. But this year? The WAS no break, and the area has been the Number One vacation destination in the US since September.
The problem is that the traffic infrastructure can’t handle the numbers.
I just stay at my mountain home and enjoy the quiet.
Oh and BTW. Next week I’m pouring the cement pad for my New 30x40 Work Shop! Im stoked

Re: Rod Run

Rod Run isn't until early September, but I plan on going unless our marxist governor won't allow it and it is cancelled again this year.

Re: Rod Run

I'm going down tomorrow morning, and dread the traffic. We live in London Ky and usually visit Tennessee once a year but haven't been in a couple years. Ive always wanted to go when the Rod Run was going on but have never been yet so im pretty excited. We rented a cabin and will be staying a couple days so maybe i will see some of you guys there. I wish i had my truck done so i could drive it down but maybe next time.

Re: Rod Run

My wife and I had a free condo in Gatlinburg one year, we didn’t know about the show and , thought we had really lucked out! Ride around, yeah, slowly, but it’s like a moving car show. Definitely made our stay better.
We sat up on the balcony at the Mexican restaurant in Gatlinburg and drank beverages while watching the parade too.
