Hello from Tyler, Texas...or should I say "Howdy!"

hey guys my name is aaron tavenner. i just turned 19 this past wednesday and i must testify. i just got ahold of my first hot rod... a '67 chevy c-10 with a 454. ive wanted one of these puppies since i saw the burnt orange project truck on the tv show "trucks!". i found it last thursday... drove up 2 1/2 hours to check it out on friday... and bought it and drove it home on sunday! i love the site and i know i have alot to learn, hopefully some of you gray hairs will lend me your wisdom! here's a few pics for yall to check out...

truck is lowered with Early Classic Enterprises spindles, springs and shocks. The rear is dropped using ECE springs, relocated shock mounts, and a fully adjustable pan hardbar.

Chevrolet 454ci mostly stock right now...

.040 over
Edelbrock Performer RPM dual-plane manifold
Holley 650 (a new barry grant demon 750 is on the way)
CompCams 280 Hydraulic Grind cam
K&N filter
Sanderson headers to 2.5" exhaust with Flowmasters
4-core radiator
'72 power disc brakes

Not too far about 4-5 hours away but I have a prior commitment with another board member on here first. Depending on how quick it gets done I will let you know if still interested.

Man you have a very nice truck to start with there.
Do you know how much drop that is or what ECE kit that is in front/back?

On a coil spring rear end truck (it has trailing arms and coil spings) the panhard bar keeps the rear end centered under the truck.

A panhard bar did not come, nor is it necessary, on a leaf spring truck. The leafs keep the rear end in line.

Chances are your truck has a coil spring rear, not leafs

That's definately an awesome start for a project truck.

Mine already turned loose but I'll help if I can. Lets start with the carb, it's a Barry Grant. Billy's his brother, he owns a hair salon.

Yup, that's a coil spring truck

That's a relocation kit for the lowered suspension, here's what a stocker looks like (it bolts to the rear end itself)
