351 Windsor

Got a 351 Windsor engine this week end, I'm thinking a build to about 425 hp then a roots blower tied to a top loader 4spd and a 9 inch Detroit locker. I do love my Fords, my son and I have been arguing a while about this. Or just leave in the 350 we just built with the Weiand supercharger. What do you guys think. I love the C-10 it was my dads from new, ah but to have that Ford drive line. Best of both worlds, and a big blue oval on the diff cover.

You may even get some members suggesting making it into a flower pot or a boat anchor. Wish I had one to put into a '69 cougar that I also wish I had.

Re: 351 Windsor

I hate " cross-breeding" in general. I don't like when I see a Chevy engine in a Ford and the other way around. If you want to use that 351, find a nice Ford body project to stick it in.

Nothing wrong with a Ford motor as long as in a Ford vehicle.

Re: 351 Windsor

I once rode in a 68' Couger that had a 351 Cleveland and it did scoot. But putting a Windsor in a Classic Chevy pick up??? PASS comes to mind.

You can't honestly think the boys here on the Chevy board are going to sing "Kooom by Ya" with you and all join up that putting a Ford in a Chevy is a good idea...I mean common' now. Not that there is anything wrong with your Ford...just not going to sit well with the Chevy boys. This is me trying to be diplomatic.

Re: 351 Windsor

I shudder when i see a Chevy truck with a caddy or a buick engine, visualizing a Cleveland in a C-10 has my eyes fluttering .................................................................................................... .................
I just fainted from fright

Get a nice '71 - '73 Mustang project for that thing --- i love those cars! Long and low -- Or an early bronco would be really cool

Re: 351 Windsor

Alas guys I was merely dreaming, the 350 stays, the supercharger is next though. The 351 will hopefully find a nice 65-69 fastback Mustang to nest in but 1st and formost the ole truck must be completed. The SC and then paint and I am done....naw youre never done! Gotta get another Busa after this project though. Dirty stealin weasles got mine this past thurs. Now the insurance woes start. Thanks for the input. Mike

good choice --- sorry about your Busa, but it gives you a chance to replace it with a Gixxer 1000 (which is faster everywhere but the drapstrip) ---I'm kidding, if you like the long low Busa look - rock on

I wouldn't do it, that's just me. I don't like Chevy's in Fords either though(although way less offensive). Fortunately this is a friendly board, others might be getting a rope right now.
