Re: 351 Windsor

Buy a 67-68 Stang (coupe) or a 66-67 fairlane for the W. Both cars are still cheap and light enough to provide a pretty wild ride.

Re: 351 Windsor

I love you guys, why the good lord is taking pittty on me after the bike drama. My sons 02 Siverado Z-71 monster trucks trans. took a dump a week ago, the guy that is going to fix it, had it towed there last night (Ford roll back by the by, ironic) any way he gives us 2 posi 3:73 setups. and another ring & pinion. Things are starting to look up. Hopefully we will have the truck finished by its 40th b-day. Thanks to all you good fellas, you made my day. Mike

Those are both legandary motors. That makes a difference.Uh...the`69 was only 3 years old in`72.
I just like Fords in Fords.People swap SBCs into about everything since you can get anything anywhere and cheaper. The two motors in topic are just too comparible to justify the effort,IMO.

I hope your luck has taken an upward sweep. You have the outlook that it takes.

Re: 351 Windsor

Sorry but I like Fords and Chevys and have several of both. I try and keep them seperated so no cross breeding will occure. But it has happened once so far. In my rock buggy that is based on a 71 Ford Bronco I have a 351W pushing about 450hp with all Chevy TBI injection including the HEI dist, computer. But my chevys are all Chevy!

Now keep in mind even if you don't like Fords or Ford guys their are still better than Honda,s and Toyota's

Re: 351 Windsor

In the early '80s a friend of mine had a '72 C10 with a 455 Buick and a 400t. That puppy would really haul the mail. He was big into Buick, even had a yellow GSX. Keep it all in the family, even if it is the ugly cousin.

Re: 351 Windsor

I couldn`t help it.Now,keep the crap out or you`ll mess up your old man`s account.
this is my account and he is using mine. Im getting tired of the people on the board being jerks about what he posted. an alternative to this would be saying if it were me I personally wouldnt do it but then you have all the funny guys that would apparently use it for a boat anchor.

Re: 351 Windsor

Then why are you here stirring the debate? If you like to piss off chevy guys.... then put the weak 351w in a lawn mower, and go cut some grass, have fun. There are forums for your type... Go there.

Re: 351 Windsor

they are both great power plants but it just depends on reliability when it gets to making big power no doubt hands down is chevy not only cheaper to make go fast and make good power numbers but its reliable because if something goes you can generally replace that part for a fraction of a ford replacement aftermarket part but its different and different is cool.

Tisk tisk, what were you thinking. Now go sit in the corner. You`re on time-out.Hey,that`s one motor(other than the 302) that Ford and Chevy made the same size. So,I guess it`s ok,right?

Eedgell,I`m talking about Smoked68s son who jumped in on daddy`s user namer to troll.Re-read his last post now.

Re: 351 Windsor

i also wasnt hating on chevy. i have an 02 silverado. I just stated that it would be funny to do since everyone puts the chevy motors in ford. then all the "die hard" chevy guys took offense to him saying he would put a 351 in the chevy and made all sorts of off the wall comments. BTW ill say it again. I (corey) started this screen name and he (my dad mike) uses mine because I dont have time to get on and he does. hes only been posting under my name "smoked68" for about a month. any more creative comments to that?
