Re: 351 Windsor

Just tell him not to make inflamitory replies. This is a diehard Chevy site. There are some that don`t discrimimate from one brand to another,BUT,this is a GM truck site first. Some diehards made posts in poor taste, but you did expect a bit of a reaction here, right? So,your son shouldn`t have been so snappy...you haven`t been. The way it works here,it`s one thing if someone makes an unfriendly remark, which is not condoned here. But,if that happens, let it ride and be the better man.It takes two to tango and two wrongs don`t make a right. With all these members there`s no way to expect that someone won`t make a remark unliked by another. We can`t sensor,it`s like live tv.So,the buck stops here approach is highly appreciated and expected.I wouldn`t have messed with your son`s post if it had been merely pro-Ford.I`m sure things would have really fired up and this would be a locked thread by now. There`s a definate bias towards GM trucks here. But,we have many members who drive Fords or like select ones because there`s no GM equal.I`d buy a PowerStroke truck and I`ve never owned a Ford.My neighbor put a Chevy 350 in a`79 F150 and I thought that was the dumbest thing ever.

I would also like to suggest that each person that wants to use this site get their own account.Sharing a user name is not a good idea. Can we all see that from this experience?
We can keep it open as long as it`s civil. We can ban smart asses, too.

Re: 351 Windsor

My feeling is our motor in there trucks, fine. Cause ours is better, but dont put that brand X junk in ours. Of course everyone wants our motors, they are superior. Superior in every way. Cost to power ratio, easier to work on by far, as well as parts availability. Those brand X things, I swear almost take different plug wires for different motors. Good luck, and good riddens.

Re: 351 Windsor

I can personally support Horsepower in any form. If you want it from a Ford or Dodge, then build it. Right now, I happen to have a GM motor thing going. I used to have a 1970 Ford Torino with a 429 Cobrajet motor, it was a great motor. Open your minds and accept that all are not like you and let it be.

Re: 351 Windsor

JEEZ!!!This just ain`t s`posed to be happnin` here guys. It`s amazing this has been allowed.I`m glad it has come and gone, hopefully. The same thing would have resulted if one or the other had just been the better man and walked-on.I personally am all for a good debate. But this site really doesn`t want to take chances on becoming like other sites with all their pissing matches.Fortunately,it never got downright nasty. But,to all who read this,in the future this is the type of thing you need to steer from. It`s just not our flavor.Thank you.

Re: 351 Windsor

Just got back in country and started reading this stuff, wow. # 1 there are were a few good posts, and quite a few ill ones. To you guys that kinda got the tempo that I had set I enjoyed the good hearted wisecracks. To the ones who didnt get it, well as Special K said lets take the high road. I ( Mike, the dad) have driven street rods my whole life, primarily Mustangs of the 60's venue and an old Buick, I think they called it a Grand National. For you die hard Chevy guys it was fast for the day. The Old truck was bought new by my dad, I have had it 22 yrs, now and love it for many reasons, 1st and formost it was his, 2ndly my son and I have done all the work on it so far and it is fairly quick and is pleasing to the eye. Nice lines, great sound and fun to drive. Ultimately though I like all street cars, Ford, chevy, Dodge, Chrysler, etc. I dont get all torn up inside when I see someone driving something that I am not paticularly fond of. Hey he's doing the same thingt I am, expressing himself. Its like the old Harley vs. crotch rocket deal. I rode a Busa but would ride with anyone who rides, Harleys and even Kawasaki's. Just dont mater to me, have fun and run what you brung and dont get all wigged out because someone stepped outside of the box. Lets just all get along, Ford guys, chevy guys, even Honda guys. Because at the end of the day when all is done and said...Ford still rules, A,,,,, good day. It was a joke, OK? a joke.
