84 cab on 79 frame??

Recently discovered that the frame is bent/cracked on my 84 Chevy swb. The previous owner attempted to weld it up but there are more than one spots that look suspect. I have access to a 79 chevy swb that I would like to swap this body onto. Will this work?? Any feedback is appreciated.

It will work with minor modifications. Use the frame's year body mounts. Font bumper mounts need to be reworked. Front brake line locations might be different, Transmission crossmember might need to be drilled.
If you can tackle a frame swap then any issues you come across will be nothing to you.
My 86 K10 has a 79 C10 frame under it and before that one I put a 78 K10 frame under it.

How about a 61 Apache body on a 79 frame? Thats my next project after the 77 is done. My son thinks the cab and fenders and bed will basically bolt tight on. I'm thinking not.

I was wondering because I was going to order body mounts from LMC and I see the two sets are different. But you're saying cab mount positions should be same right?

Pretty sure wheel base will be an issue.
